truck driver did not see the man on crutches walking across th kenilw avenue. no criminal charges have been filed at this point in this investigion. witnesses tell me they are still in shock this morning as they watched helplessly as a man they knew was killed right in front of them. >> the truck hit him and threw him in the air.rt >> re: mark says the fatal accident happened right in front of his store on kenilworth avenue. and struck by what he saw. >> he had utches on and stopped and that's when he got hitp by the dum truck. >> reporter: was he in a crosswalk? >> no. >> reporter: the driver of the truck stayed on the scene after the accident. the victim casossing the street and knew him as "concrete." they say they knew him as a homeless panhandler and hit a couple weeks ago, why he wasg walk crutches. >> we traded crutches yesterday.

for the t time in six years, virginia health officials say fatal drug overdoses have declined slightly. the latest stats show 52 fewer drug overdoses last year compared to 2017. fentanyl t remains main contributor in those fatal cases. virginia has been workg on it. while there has been a decline of numbers, the virginia a.g. says the case numbers remains staggering and the epidemic is far from over. the archbishop of washington is backing the tholic church in his home state of georgia with investigations into past claims of sexual abuse within the church. he said itla will as long as necessary and could result in criminal prosecution, although that will be handle at the local level. archbishop gregory will leave the archdiocese of atlanta to be
