i'm melissa mollet. >> and i'm erika gonzalez. breaking news out of baltimore. there are reports the city's mayor will resign today. a lawyer for catherine pugh is making an announcementid am growing requests to resign. she received $800,000 from a hospital network and others that did work with the city for her book. her home was raided by the fbi so a news conference is scheduledfor this afternoono discuss the mayor'se but publisher and ceo francis tony draper said she will resign. thefirst-term democrat became mayor in late 2016. look for updates through our nbc washington app. attorney general barr has informed us that he will not appear today. >> house chairman jerrold nadler

through the store front. they load up the atm and took off. the workers were not hurt. up close you really see the impact taking window and the -- the frame and the cash register. at a place where so many start their days, this was a tough sight. >> i think they need to increase the security around because i think they're hitting this area more. it is like they target the area because think the 7-eleven up in new hampshire got hit. >> reporter: he is right. that happen. on tuesday same m.o. as today's heist. the suspects dressed in black with faces concealed and the store owners not hurt but the atm also stolen. today there is a trend showing no sign of slowing down, i heard about a couple in the county. and even in baltimore. >> reporter: since march several local 7-elevens have been targeted for atm theft. last week a south dakota avenue store was hit in northeast d.c.

and from march to april there were four hit in prince george's county. police in all jurisdictions working to see if these cases are somehow connected. justin finch, nbc4. developing right now, there is a search for a dark-colored suv an arundel county poce say an 8-year-old boy was hit by an suv boarding a school bus this morning. we're told this happened in area of shoreline boulevard and bayou bend bouleva in laurel. the child is expected to be okay. police are asking anybody in the ea who may have witnessed this or maybe you have some surveillance cameras in your yard that caut this, please call police. police are looking for a pair of teen suspects in connection to a deadly stabbing near aetro station late on sunday. d.c. police found a man who had een stabbed several times on 14th street. not far from the potomac avenue metro stop. police n believe his attackers are xavier cul and jada smith, .

findi best deal isn't the only thing that people look for when booking a flight. wallet hub looked at the best airlines and it found alaska rlines is best overall. for the third year in a row, in fact, followed by delta airlines. delta was found to be the most reliable airline with the lowest rate of cancellations, delays and lost luggage. the studysaid jet blue has the most comfortable experience. and maybe most alaska was found to be the safest airline.

radar. most of the area completely dry. i'm tracking a lone shower back into morgan county, west virginia, trying to move into washington county in maryland. but aside from that, we're dry and plenty of sunshine out there. a wider look of storm team radar and the system causing that severe weather that erika was talking about and t is is impacting our area. that will continue to do so. right on through the weekend. so here is a look at yourain outlook. this afternoon we'll have some scattered showers and thunderstorms out there. mainly between about 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. on friday new information coming in is telling me that most of the day isooking mainly dry. overnight where we'll see rain moving through the area. on saturday, some late-day showers, maybe few rumbles of thunder are possible on sunday. some scattered showers around, potentially throughout the day but plenty of dry time as well. it is not until monday where we see completely dry weather. so two takeaways from this. when you look at this,k it loo like we'll have a lot of rainy

weather. this is that summer-like pattern where you might get a storm or might stay completely dry. you'll have much more dry time than wno time. hing to cancel or change your weekend plans over just yet and the second takeaway. it is a tricky forecast. and it is still evolving. erre is future weath this afternoon. at lunchtime, notice we're still dry within the next minutes. even moving toward 2:00 p.m. we're keeping it dry out there. once we get between 20 and 3:00 with help of the heat and humidity among other factors we start to see showers and thunderstormsround the -- the lou ray andrg leesbu area. scattered showers and thunderstorms out there and any storms today could have very heavy rainfall. some strong gusty winds and maybe even hail. the evening commute could track scatter showers around the area and by 5:00 the potential for rain anywhere and estcially in d.c. metro region as we look toto 6:00 ght, still tracking

the mayor is accused of receiving roughly $800,000 from a hospital networnd others that did business with the city of baltimore for copies of her healthy holly children's book. her home was raided by the fbi and a news conference is scheduled for this afternoon to discuss her feature but it is said she will resign. she became mayor in late 2016 and look for updates on the breaking story all day on news4 and in the nbc washington app. and new at 11:30, with a rescue earlier this morning in the district, firefighters responding using blocks to free a person that was partially trapped under a jeep. this is right at georgia avenuep and berrylace in northwest. just a couple of blocks from howard university. so we're told the pedestrian had serious injuries. but is expected to be okay. investigators are looking into what led up to the crash in the firs place. right now d.c. leaders are

district. currently the median home list price in the area is more than $434,000. that is up 1.5% from a year ago. teachers can only afford 32% of the available homes. and that percentage is even lower for first responders at 26.5%. restaurant workers can only afford 1.5% of available homes. now here is cnbc morning business report. good morning i'm frank holland at cnbc headquarters. a lot of young adults say they are already saving up to buy a home. a new survey b bank of america finds more than half of the again z demographic or people between the ages ofnd 18 a 25 say they plan to be homeowners in the next five years. to reach their goal they would rather use $5,000 for a down payment thann a dream wedding or to go shopping or even on a vacation. about half of them say staa ing amily is the reason for buying a house. with your cnbc morning business

outside it is 74 degrees and it will get warmer. >> i went for a run this morning and it is like a puddle because it is humid out there and especially for this time of the year. we have near record warmth in the forecast. it is going to be humid again tomorrow. warm again tomorrow. and you know in our area when we have the heat and humidity, oftentimes it comes al showers and thunderstorms. that is the case today mainly between 2:00 and 8:00 p.m. we're going to have showers and thundersrms moving through the area from west to east. some heavy rainfall, some gus winds and hail. i can't rule it out. so be weather ready and be prepared to head indoors and ase look to tomorrow, what i'm seeing right now with the new information coming in, it looks like most of the day is going to be dry. but once we get past 6:00, 7:00 p.m., then the cnce for rain will start to build into the area unless you are north and west of the d.c. metro area. during the n afternoon hours there is frederick and fauquier county, you could see showers and thunderstorms. but i think most of us are going to be dry t outre on our

friday night. but then at night we have rain moving through, heavier rain and then some rain over the weekend. it is not a wash-out. we are getting into the summer kind of pattern where we're not ing about a strata form all day. chilly rain out there. it is rain maybe at times and when it is not raining, re temperatures at that bad. especially on saturday. the humidity drops as we look to sunday. currently across the area. tempeures coming in in the 70s. 79 in reston. 74 in wagton. 73 degrees up in baltimore.is here a look at your forecast for tomorrow. because today we warm to near 9e and again we'v already talked about the thunderstorms out there. a high on friday, 85 degrees. so warm and humid. and some late-day showers and thunderstorms again for most of us and that means during the evening and overnight hours.e here is thorecast for the weekend. starting off saturday, mild and dry with the temperatures of 65 most of the day is dry. maybe some peeks of sunshine on saturday. as we head to evening hours, showers likely nar 70.
