. storm team 4 is tracking our chances of some severe weather for the rest of the eve wng. that'st's moving through right now. doug is back in just a couple minutes with the forecast to see how fast this is is going to move out. cars that blow through stop signs, deadly crashes. it doesn't sound like a street you'd want to live on, right? neighbors in an area of southeast d.c. say it's part of daily ffe them. our transportation reporter adam tuss is live along 16th street southeast where some have gone as far as painting their own crosswalks. how bad ad it, m? >> i'll tell you what.

avenue, central avenue. it's something that's small. painting every crosswalk that is not painted that is fading away. >> ronald has made some head way. tod crews out here installing some new signs and making changes. in the time since ronald started making these claims, this crosswalk was painted byr ron ad th was painted by the d.c. department of transportation and these pedestrian crossing signs also were put in by the city. all changes ron says he approves of, but he'd still like to see more. >> put your money and your actions where your mouth is, because we're doing it. peoplare painting crosswalks. >> vdot tells us no one should be pating crosswalks, because that could unintentionally paint a hazard. those kind of markings wll be removed. at least for now ronald's crosswalk stands, a symbol this community is demanding safer

area, you're going to be detoured. the closure will c allowws to install a new pedestrian bridge over rock creek and potomac park ay which is going to be pretty darn cool. work should wrap up, by the way, on t 14th. boy, what a wild a behind the wheel it was today. >> and i think i saw a witch on a bicycle go by in the air just a second ago. it looks like it's that bad. >> it's nasty. what we're looking at behind us, these are the storms that have pushed off into prince george's county, anne arundel county, fairfax county as w'sl. ltake a look at the radar. you see where these storms are. theaviest of which coming through parts of southern maryland, northern virginia, right along i-95. if you liv in and around the city of fairw tax, dotowards cliffton, as well as southern prince george's county, you're seeing these storms. here's one of the heavier storms over towards annapolis. along the bay bridge. look at this. a lot of very hvy rain.

that's the biggest factor we've got now. this is just south of fairfax. here's the belt way. so you know this is right around mt. vernon, springfield, woodbridg woodbridge. not a severe thundetorm warning, but strong storm nonetheless. very heavy rainfall. we could see some flooding. watch out in that area. here's the thunderstorm right now close to shady side. southern portions of anne un arundel co, extreme northern calvert county. this is moving across the bay. then farther south, here's cspotsylvania county,y of fredericksburg. this is south and east. this is where we did have a severe thunderstorm warning a little bit earlier. look at all the lightning associated with this. this is right along 522. we're not done just yet. it is trying to make its way out of here. i'm thinking the southern zone

down aroundck frederiurg, you've got a couple hours left of ts. here's more storminess back towards the west and another area of storm from st. louis down towards memphis. tornadoatch into thisrea. we've got the unsettled we her here over the next couple of days. high today, we did get to about 85 earlier. now sitting at 70. winds out of the east at 6 miles an hour with that thunderstorm in the area. as we move on through the 8:00 hour, notice most them still well south of d.c. in through parts of southern maryland. i think down around fredericksburg, we can shift this south. kind of sitting there right on through 10:00, 11:00, i think we could see flooding in those areas. tomorrow morning, 7:00 a.m., just shower activity around, but watch what happens by noon. looks like most of usare dry by noon. most of tomorrow afternoon looks

>>or now a prince gee's county jury has vindicated him. kevin snead exonerated after spending two years fighting for justice. our prince george's county bureau chief tracee wilkins updates the story you saw only on news 4. >> i just wanted to prove my innocence. >> reporter: kevin snead said that for the last two years his fight for justice has caused depression and a loss of hope. >> i feel like theis system going to work against me regardless. >> reporter: the trouble began during araffic stop. in a police report, a prince george's county police officer said he stopped kevin for a broken taillight and because w the a robbery in the immediate vicinity the previous night, he said kevin accelerated during the stop.ic the off reported he jumped into the driver's side window because he feared the driver had a gun. but the officer's report also said that after searching the vehicle, no guns or drugs were found. kevin was still charged with attempted murder of an officer. >> they told me no bond and they

told me what i was actually charged wit i said just let me go. >> reporter: kevin received bruises that day. he says he was beaten by the rresting officer. eventually they reduced his charges to second degree assault and disorderly conduct. he wasffered alea with no jail time if he admitted some guilt. remething kevin consided for fear of possibly going tojail. >> i will be a fool to take it and then they play with my life. >> we felt h like didn't even want to leave. >> reporter: kevin's mother got help from a group called life after relief. they got black lives matter nd involved a soon kevin had a defense team. >> we were able to do support and get black lives matter suppot fund and get him away didn'tblic defenders who have his best interest. >> after a two-day trial, a jury found sneed not guilty on all

charges. he had the end of h too many defendants can't access. >> some people are forced to take the plea deals in which often times they're pleading guilty to crimes they did not commit. >> reporter: kevin says this outcome is a second chance. >> if you did not do anything or wrong, fight f your life state's attorney tells nbc 4 this is a case she inherited from the previous state's attorn o. she wentto say, quote, when he received this case, we determined the case had merit. we thought it was appropriatepro ecute with reduced charges. we respect the jury's verdict. the prince george's county police department did not respond to our request for comment this evening. well, the atm thieves have struck again, but this time they were successful. they got away with the cash and the machine. this happened in montgomery county on tech road in cal verton just off columbia pike. police say they drove a pickup into the front of a 7/11.te
