current patterns in the river te see w, in fact, that vehicle couldndave eed up. >> news4's cory smi will have a live report from roosevelt island at 5:00. a young man is among the dead in a rash of violence. 18-year-old sayon coplins was shot and killed on statton in southeast d.c. this happened around 9:00 p.m. saturday. he died at the hospital. another young man was shot in the kenilworth neighborhood. he was rushed to the hospital.on histion has stabilized. d.c. police are also working two other shootings. this morning, one american is among41he people killed in a fiery plane crash in russia. >> take a look at this dramatic video. you can see the plane on fire as it made an emergency landing at an airport in moscow yesterday.n the ere tail of that plane was engulfed in flames as thick, black smoke filled the sky. to assengers were able escape the plane.

the passenger plane was on its way from moscow to the northern russian city of mermesk. the crew reported a mall function and returned tohe airport -- a malfunction and returned to the airport. a cracked indshield forced a united airlines airlines to les airport yet. look at that map from flight da.s ware.com it shows the plane looping back toward dulles. united released a statement saying, quote, about 45 minutes in the air the pilot noticed an issue with the windshield. the flight returned to dulles without incident." the passengers were transferred to another flight to las vegas. it is unclear what caused the windshield to crack. this morning, investigators are trying to figure out why a helicopter crashed into che sapeake bay killing two men on board. the chopper went down a mile off the tip of kent island, maryland, on saturday. crews recovered the bodies of the pilot, charles knight of mt. airy, and the passenger, matt

there is no interest in going to war with iran but will re ond to any attack on u.s. interests. the announcement comes just days after the trump administration imposed new limits on iran's nuclear activities. ♪ family and friends of north carolina student riley howell paid their final respects this weekend. howell was one two of people killed on april 30th when a gunman oned fire at the university of north carolina at charlotte. investigators called howell a hero saying he tackled the gunman and saved lives.n howell wasrotc student and 21 years old. a police officer was killed during a routine traffic stop. this happened in mooresville, north carolina. k-9 officer jordan sheldon was shot after pulling a driver over around0:00 p.m. saturday. the suspect apparently shot himslf in an apartment close to the scene.

check your freezer. tyson foods is recalling nearly 12 million pounds of frozen ready-to-eat chicken strips that could be contaminated wh metal. the agriculture's food and safety inspection service says it's aware of six complaints eo from ple who found pieces of metal in the food. the frozen products have "use by" dates of october 1st, 2019, through march 7th, 2020. if you have the chicken, yoush ld throw it away or return it to the store where you bought it. and a heads-up about a robo call scam known o as the ring. if you see a 222 area code, don't answer the phone. the calls are coming from overseas during the middle of the night. the caller dials your number and immediately hangs up. this may repeat several times. the scammer hopes you'll be concerned enough to call back. the call back works like a 900 number chargie you a hug amount. the fcc says you should never call back a number that you don't recognize. >> i never do. i don't answer numbers i don't recognize anymore. >> leave a message. >> usually always a robo call.
