deping this morning, there's a search for an suv in the potomac river. >> what was a rescue effort has turned into a recovery effort. cory smith is live with the latest on this fr roosevelt island. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, aaron and eun. as the sun rises, the conditions needed for crews o get back and continue the recovery effort, continue to improve, we'll show you the scene from late sunday night. the call to 911 came in around 9:20 yesterday. someone reporting a car going into the potomac river, an suv. when investigators got to the scene, theykeid spo it to a witness who said they saw the car go into the water. inveigators also found tire tracks indicating that a car had gone in. for hours, crews searched by th air, ey searched by land, and divers in the water, as well. there are no signs of the suv and no signs of anyone who may have been side. the difficult thing about this

obviously is that the potomac is a large body of noter. w crews are having to take into account the currents and t wheres car may he drifted. let's listen to what investigators had to say. >> there is possibility of this vehicle in theh water, tat it could have floated some distance. that is a possibility we're exploringu the coast ard was going to do modeling to see where the vehicle could have ended up. >> reporter: there are multiple agencies involved in th recovery effort. you've got d.c. fire, ems, you've also got the coast guard, as well as u.s. park police. what we're keeping an eye out for is exactly where the recovery efforts will begin. in is where the car went into the water last nigh the models say this cower could be anywhere along the potomac river. we'll see c wherews focus

investigators also found a data recorder after this boeing 737 skidded off the runway and into the st. john's river in jacksonville. the plane was landing at the naval air station from guantanamo bay, cuba, when it began to skid. the landing gear appeared to be in the riverbed. more than 140 were on board. everyone survived. closer to home, investigators are trying to determine what caused a helicopter to crash tilling two men on board in the chesapeake bay. that crash happened saturday a mile off the tip of kennedy island, tharyland. about lot and passenger maryland governor larry motion r hogan's posal to ease congestion on the beltway, i-270 and bw parkway. >> dozens turned out to express their concerns. any joel jacobs is -- nicole to bs is on the road wit find out more. >> reporter: good morning.
