4. according to police and v.a. records obtained by the i-team, the patient removed the ceiling tiles above a bathroom shower in th psychiatric unit on sunday night. the 29-year-old manassas man crawled to ai neighboring off outside the locked space. the man's relative who did not want to be identified told us he was able t catch a cab back to virginia. >> he went through the emergency room, and he asked someone in the emergency room, the staff at the hospital, to call a axicab. they called him a cab.or >> repter: he was wearing his help clothes. >> he was wearing his scrub bottoms and a tank top. >> the man took that cab to manassas wher police say he held a woman he knew against her will and assaulted her. prince william police arrested him. the man is being held at a hospital now and fac several charges, as we said. the v.a. hospital tells us it is reviewing itsic pols and porte procedures. > new developments in the

chelsea manning situation. she is no longer in federal custody, but it may be short-lived. manning was in the alexandria detention center for refugue to testify before a virginia federal grand jury about the release of wikileaks documents. her freedom may not last long because prosecutors askedn ng to appear before another grand jury for the same questions as soon as next week. manning's lawyer she will refuse to provide any answers and fear it could land her back in jail. mannirs served seven yea in a military prison for leaking documents to wikileaks. her en35-year sentce was commuted by then-president barack obama. president trump is rushing to his son's deficit after donald trump jr. was sunsoenaed to ar for questions told russia. the republican-led senate intelligence committee wants to know whetheronald trump jr. was fourthcoming when hest ied about his 2016 trump tower meeting and the trump tower moscow project. trump jr. said he was only vaguely aware of the project. but the president's former

according to the ""associated press,"" military experts say the missiles look just like a missile the russian military has deployed to syria and has been actively trying to sell abroad for years. they're called iskander missiles, a short-range, nuclear-capable missile, in the ruan arsenal for more than a decade. it's designed to fly at a flattened out altitude of around 25 miles. ey're also niebable to make in-flight guidance. the news agency released images showing kim jong-un observing the launches. south korea's president, moon jae-in, says the launches were probably a type of protest against the u.s. after the failedanoi summit in february. we'll bring y a updatessoon as possible. back to you. >> thank a homeowner thought he was shooting at an intruder, now police say it was a case of mistaken identity. this happened in centreville late thursday. ere called after the

this morning, we're learning there is a racial disparity when it comes to access to treatment for opioid addiction. researchers found that white patients were nearly 35 times more likely to get a prescription forddiction eatment medications. that is compared to african-americans who were also struggling with addiction. 74% o those office visits were either paid by cash or through private insurance. medicare and medicaid picked up the tab for only 19% of those visits. it is teacher appreciation week. a group of california parts is rallying around the second-grade teacher who is fighting breast cancer. the parents are paying for her substitute while she's on leave. california teachers receive ten sick days a year. beyond that, they can take an

to the closure happening in northwest. drivers are running into road closed egns on th rock creek parkway. >> news4's justin finch isri t by the roosevelt bridge near the kennedy center and joins us live with more. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. not just drivers butedestrians and bicyclists, too, when they come down to the rock creek earkway by the kennedy center. you'll see th flashing lights, cones up, crews are working, and way in the back, heavy lifting here. you won't see things quite the same until early next week. an overview about what's happening. the rock creek area, that stretch by the kennedy center, vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic here is being moved to nearby virginia avenue and 23rd. and other roads and ramps in this area nearby,s well. the closures are in place for this so that crews can install a
