soud rockville pike, crash at the right side. looks like that's clearing now. that should be out of the way pretty soon. all of this rain moving across the area going to cause pain this morning. gaithersburg, northbound 270, the local lanes near 370. left side blocked by an accident. right side is open. you.hank this morning could be a tricky commute for those of you who use the gw parkway. >> that's right. all northbound lanes are shut down between chain bridge road and the beltway. the park services a ten-foot-deep sinkhole opened up on friday frcing them to close laneshe for t entire weekend. it's the second hole that's formed in this area since march. officials say the weather is to blame. >> this and the previous sinkhole that happened in march were caused by large rain events. it's all about water moving off the roadway and into the drainageystem that's built under the george washington memorial parkway. the good news is that crews have patched that sinkhole.

but heavy rain from over the weekend then prevented them from finishing up the job. the park service hopes to open one lane before the evening commute. meanwhile, a busy stretch of rock creek parkway is back open for driver in the district. crews finished their work that road more than a day ahead of schedule. the part of the road near the kennedy center was supposed to be closed until tesday morning so crews could install a new pedestrian bridge. instead, fast work t allowed road to reopen last night. the kennedy center says the bridge will open inte mber. this morning new details in a murder case in engrebelt. ed down nnifer was gu while leaving her office. police say she was married to two different ment the same time. one of the men was the head of a criminal organization. jennifer was shot and killed friday as she walked to hercar. police say a man walked up to her and shot her twice. we now know jennifer was married to an actor and a drug king pin.

the pilot is being hailed a hero after laing the plane safely in myanmar on its rear wheels. after determining the landing ar was not working, the pilot rg followed emecy procedures and did a fuel burn to reduce the weight of the plane. he finally lowered the nose to therunway. the plane skidded for near ha a minute before stoing. assengers then slid down the escape chutes to safety. no one was injured. that pilot is a hero, wow. this morning an american airlines pilot is charged in a triple murder. christian martin was asuested en at the airport in -- saturday at the airport in kentucky before he was set to fly. detectives say he killed three people in 2015. one man was shot to death. the victim's wife and neighuor w dead in a burning car. american airlines released a statement saying they are working with police.
