not until the next day, november 1st, that a school resource officer was notified. many say that was way too late. it turns out those players were unsupervised for at least 25 minutes. the coaches in this case were running late and did not notify other staff. miven thating forward the superintendent now says the school system will doo more t keep students safe on campus. >> that they are safe at damascus high sch i say that i truly wish this had never happened and that i really feel very, very badly for the students and their families involved in this situation and we have done everything w can to support them. >> reporter: and as you mentioned, a lot of firings has happened in the meantime of this. j.v. head coach has been fired. the director of athletics has been re-assigned within the system. the principal stepped down last week and the five students who were allegedlyfacg charges as w

allegations at damascus high school. a j.v. football coach has been bannedfollowing an internal investigation. news 4's justin finch joins us live from outside of the school now with other troubling details in that report. justin? >> reporter: eun, while the superintendent said himself he ishes that this never even happened, understandable concern about this report which uncovers as j.v. footba players were unsupervised that sexual assault is said to have taken place. here's what we now know that on october 31st, 2018, between 2:50 and 3:15 that afterno four jv football players were reportedla sexy assaulted by their teammates in a locker room. by that evening a parent did alert a coach. there was no movement on that rert until november 1st, the next day, when a school resource officer was notified. some say that was too late. the report goes on to find that the coaches were running late and that's why the team was unsupervised and they did not
