we start with the crime that police called disturbing. a 14-year-old girlutally beaten to death. >> tonight three teenagers are charged and police say two of them have ties to ms 13. the victim's body found in a creek. you'll recall here in riverdale yesterday investigators tell us the motive appeared to be an effort to keep her quiet. >> cory smith joins us from prince george's county police headquarters with the details on this awful story. cory. >> reporter: jim and doreen, the victim in this case is 14-year-old ariana diaz. for nearly a month her body lay hidden in a wooded area in tverdale. tonighthree people who she knew have been arrested and charged with her murder. police say 16-year-old jose ponce, 17 joel escobar and 14-year-old killed diaz to keep her quiet. all four allegedly committed a robbery in d.c. on april 17th.

fearful that diaz would go to police, the trio lured her into the woods and killed her t next day. investigators say the two males are members of ms 13. diaz is the third teenager to be found dead since early march. two other victims we also found in a wooded area and police say each case is gang related. however, they are not connected and diaz's murder is an isolated innocent. this was the result of in-fighting within aoup and not a result that gang activity is on the rise. >> we have not noticed an uptick. it's an upeck becaus of some recent cases, but consistently it's been the same type of past.ty we've seen in the so it may look that way, but we haven't seen muchal more crim activity coming from ms 13 in this area. >> jim, doreen, as you said, a very disturbing case and the investigation is not done. police telling us today that they are in fact, looking for a

were talking to all these kids. every single one of us, chuck bell, lauren ricketts, talking about different kinds of weather in our area. of course, i got to throw out the first pitch a little bit earlier and really just a great not only did i throw a strike on the mound, i threw a strike here as well. look at these numbers. 79 degrees right now in d.c. 79 in frederick. 78 down towards fredericksburg. plenty of sunshine. really a spectacular afternoon. nothing as far as rain is concerned tonight. now, we do have a chance for rain tomorrow. let's take a look and show you what i mean. we saw showers early this morning. hat little system that came through, watchthis system back here to the west. we're watching the system back towards the great lakes. that system is going to be making its way our way overnight tonight and early tomorrow morning as well. but most of your friday will be

dry. so do not be surised to see some rain early on your friday. just to let you know about that, most of the day goes dry. look at the numbers. ine 60s or 70s across parts of the northeast. here are the 80s and even the 90s. look at sluit. louis at 90 degr. these are the kind of numbers we're going to see move into our area just time for the weekend. weekend for like saturday and sunday. the cooler air will be replaced by nice warm air and this is a pattern we think will last not u only thr this weekend, but probably into next weekend. of course, that is memorial day weekend. we'll be looking at these numbers to see where that front sets up, just how warm we're going to be. let's take a look at that forecast. 83 degrees tomorrow or 85 on saturday. an ay about a 30% chance of afternoon shower or storm with a high temperature of 89. 86 on monday. we see a front come through. down t 77. and then right back into the 80s to close to0 as we head

the georgetown junior has filed a federal lawsuit to get readmitted. he says he didn't know his father had paid for some admission even though he didn't even play tennis. he says his academic record shows he deserves to be there. we got reaction from students today as they prepare forua gradon weekend. >> if the evidence was clear the student had no involvement, i don't think the student should have to suffer for a parents decision. >> georgetown university says it cannot comment on pendingti tion. they reached out to the lawyer representing the expelled student. we were told 's not giving interviews at this time. >> itas been 65 years since the landmark brown versus board of education decision, but activists say the country is still strugglingn with educatio in equality. the supreme court ruling says racial segregation in public schools is unconstitutional. he civil rights groups that rallied at the u.s. capitolays ore works needs to be done.

15-year-old riley crossman disappeared last week. authorities believed they found her decomposed body this morning in berkeley county. investigators say the 41-year-old boyfriend was a person of interst since day one. we're getting our first look at what amazon's new hq 2 could look like in arlington. we got these new images today which show two big high rises at the center of the complex in crystal city. there will also be lots of n retail space and open public squares. the first two towers could be finished by 2022. breaking news. formeris national security adv michael flynn toll the special counsel about potential efforts to obstruct robert mueller's investigation. newly unredacted documents were me public just a short time ago. the documents indicate flynn told prosecutors about multiple instances he got communication from people connected to the trump administration or people

like in years passed. let's take a look. 48 to 5390 degree days. the average is 36. so you look at that and you go stw, at l 12 to 15 days bove average for 90 degree days. yes, we are saying it's going to be a very hot summer, but i am not expecting as many days between 95 and 100. it will be on the hot side. temperatures right around average for the whole summer which also means we'll have a couple days below average. all in all looking pretty good. we're not talking about extreme heat, but you know we'll still have some fairly hot days. we've actually got some hot days coming up. we've got hot days coming up, right amelia? >> absolutely. especially on sunday where we're going to flirt with 90 degrfs a high temperature. our high today was 79 degrees. that's the current temperature out here right now. we're also at 79 up in frederick and lsburg coming in at 77. just a beautiful evening out there. tomorrow we're going toa h a high temperature of 83 degrees. we'll have some morning showers
