>> reporter: new informatit now tha join you here at 6:00. learning from fairfax county police that a moon and woman were also injuredhe in t process of the shooting. they were not shot. their injuries said to be non-life-threatening, and they're not clear just yet if any relationship they may have to the victim, that man who died. i do want to show you happening now the investigation still here on the scene. as you can see, we still have crime scene investigators just behind us by that party hall, that juarez restaurant and the authentic indian cuisine restaurant. we have seen investiintors lock on this area throughout the morning. i do want to show you the scene from earlier. just hours after this shootingpl took ace. we're in the 14500 block of lee memorial highway. this is not too far from the dulles expo center. about 1:30 this morning, we're told, that calls came in to police about a shooting happening in this area. they arrived and found a man who was shot. they tried to rush in to the

hospital, but we are told that he died a short time later.me as we co back out here live, under daylight you can see thisn is very much expansive scene here in this strip mall parking lot. police telling us they are not quite clear what led up to the shooting besides knowing an altercation took place t s parking lot shortly before. again, one man is dead. two are injured. a man and woman. their injuries non-life-threatening. police still working to figure out how all of this has come togeth r. they tellus, too, in this case, the suspected shooter is now in custody. they do notelieve there's any danger to the public. they are still conducting introduce tryinto figure this out. live in chantilly, back to you inside to you. >> thank you so much. we have a school delay to tell you about this morning. mt. daniel elementary will operate on a two-hour delay because of an ongoing power outage.

falls church schools are checking -- rather, asking foorns check for updates in case power is not restored. >> the outage is likely the result of the storms that left behind a lot of damage including some along the national mall. news4's megan mcgrath is live along haines point with the latest on the trail of damage left behind there. hey, megan. >> reporter: good morning. yeah, tense wind came through last night. if you take a look here, we have widespread tree damage, some of it among the national mall. haines point. a lot of things the limb came crashing down, at one time crossing ohio drive. you see the limbs and stuff in the median. a lot of progress has been made in cleaningp all the limbs and trees that fell down. traffic is moving the area. g.ere still is cleanup to be done this mornin as you're out and about, you may notice the crews at work. look at that show. here's some of the other damage

that was seen yesterday as the storm blew through. we're not seeing a major traffic impact as a result. it's more the residual drebry. everything got -- debris. everything got shoved off to the side of the road. we will expect chain saws, so keep that in find. a couple of cherry trees were damaged in all of this, as well. at this point, things have kind of stabilized. pretty good shape. but still a lot of cleanup work to be done. back to you. >> thank you. we continue our storm coverage in maryland. cleanup derway in howard county where an ef-1 tornado -- you can see the damage on way over way, not far from where 29 and 32 meet in columbia. a huge tree sliced from the roof to the ground floor. the good news is nobody was . hurt in the district, the

there's been another turn in jussie smollett's criminal case. a judge is ordered that the documents be unsealed saying they should be public record. smollett was arrested for filing
