with both crimes. the second suspect, darin miller, only charged in thomas' murder. the two men killed thomas in an attempt to throw off the investigation. >> we don't see this in charles county. the victim and his friend were just walking down the street, leaving a house, walking towards another and suspects approached and appears just randomly fire. pd >> both men are held at the charles county detention center without bond. this morning a virginia man is facing acharge for shooting and killing another man in a parking lot fight. it happened early yesterday mornin at the strip mall in chantilly. witnesses tell us miguel hernandez was picking up his wife from a restaurant when police say a fight broke out between him and another man named stephen green. green allegedly shot and kill hernandez then waited at the scene for police to arrest him. two other people were also hurt in the altercation, but not by

gunfire. and an update on a local catholic priest charged with several counts of sexually abusing his parishioner including two children. irbondo pleaded notuilty and appeared yesterday in a d.c. courtroom. he was a priest at the shrine of the sacred heart in northwest d.c. accused of inappropriately touching and kissing 10 and 13-year-old girls and a woman while a priest from 2015 to 2017. the washington archdiocese removed him from his position at the shrine of the sacred art. metro's major summer shutdown officially begins today and is expected to impact s.ousands of riders for mon all stations south of reagan national airport on the blue and yellow les will be closed so that metro can repair the platforms. the shudotdown is expected to lt

abortion law from going into effect in mississippi. b it would most abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected at about six weeks of pregnancy. new this morning, a blow to the trump administration's prime promis yesterday a federal judge blocked president trump from building setions of his u.s./mexico border wall with money used by declaring a national emergency. the president made the declaration in february after congress refused to fully fund his wall leading to a 35-day government shutdown. as a compromise, lawmakers gave the president a fraction of what he was asking fo for improvements to alr existing structures. he accepted it, but later declared a national emergency diverting other government funds to pay for the border wall. and this morning, an update on the college admissions scandal. three morearents have pleaded gutty. yesterday marjorie klapper, jane

welcome back. she was one of the first afric-american women to serve overseas in the u.s. army. on monday along with other members of her battalion, 97-year-old indiana hunt ma fin will p featured in the memorial day parade.

we sat down with martin and has the story of the little known unit known as the 6888. >> reporter: there855 of them, all women, all aican-american. 's in 1945, they deployed overseas. their mission, to sort through millions and millions of letters and packages intended for u.s. g.i.s serving in the war. >> you should have seen the pile. boxes falling apart. >> reporter: one of those youns women indiana hunt martin. the members of the 6888 faced racism here in the states. martin recalls taking the train to georgia for bake training. >> rode all the way to washington, d.c., e had change trains, because from there down, you didn't ride in the same train with the whites. >> reporter: and martin members the air raids. >> they were right outsi of london. we could see the bombs. where the germans were bombing. because they were still bombing.

usually goes. a robber is able to get some cash and then runs away. but the robber got a big surprise when the cashier out a gun. his hatchet didn't seem so threatening then. the cashier then casually called 911. police say the robber gave up the hatchet and alogized to the cashier. the robber was able to sneak out and run away and police still have not caught him. whew. he was prepared. and police haven't caught this guy either behind me here. you probably saw this mug shot earlier this week. his name is jose and wanted for not showing up to court appearances. police posted his picture on facebook to try to find him. get this. not only responds to police but says he'll turn himself in, if the post gets 15,000 .lik the post got almost 30,000 likes and now he still didn't turn himself in.
