point tonight most of our area was under a severe thunderstorm warning watch. it goes off there and it shows off that lightning strike in frederick, maryland. it is a stormth team 4 wea alert. let's gto right our meteorologist who is tracking the developments. we areooking at this storm system. we have been waiting for it all day. it's finally arrived. some of us have nothad to worry about much but you saw that video there, they got quite this storm. we'll get to radar in a moment. right now i do want to bring you up to speed. everyone in pink in a severe thunderstorm watch. they have got it back and that hreat pushed farther south and east. you can see that on the radar. right now tracking very heavy rain out toward just eas of queen anne.

we're watching pretty incredible images coming from oklahoma. a powerful tornado ripping through the small town west of oklahoma city. this is what is left of the small motel there.it the twer tossing around cars like toys. we're having a little difficulty getting that video but at least two people he died and dozens more are injured. the tornado, this tornado in particular is one of about 200 that swept ac the united states in the past week tornadog we had an ef-1 that struck in columbia maryland on thursday. >> president trump says this weekend's rolling thunder will not be t last. >> the president tweeted in japan saying the event will return to d.c. nextyear. with rising cost this year is supposed to be the last time this will be held in wasngton.

this evening thishows the shooting that took the life of a 15-year-old boy in southeast. a car pulls into the parking lot. and then the car goes off. >> we have a look out for a light color four door sedan. >> theshooting happened at 10:30 in the morning on the holiday weekend. you can see the teen standing near the store before the shots rang out. no sign of trouble. the entire incident was caught on surveillance video but much of it is too graphic to show. when the bullets starting flying the ttn andeast two others ran toward the store but he never made it inside. two women and a teenage girl later showed u at the hospital

good. we visited her at her practice lab. she is turning tragedy into triumph to make her sons proud. >> my name is kathie. i'm going to be your nurse today. >> nurses are the ones that take care of us at our worse. their purpose, help peopl who are in pain. a brain disease that takes everything. >> went first. >> then a seizure followed by a feeding tube and eventually being unable to move. >> he never stopped smiling and i figured if he's not going to stop, i wouldn't have any right to. >> through it all, alex's big brother zaxby his side. >> he was amazing.

he was the best brother. he di everything for alex. >> with the help of his family, alex amazed everyone. doctors gave him six months to live. he survived over 7 years. 1 he was when he passed away and as if they weren't dealing with enough. >> we found but hisother had the same disease. >> zach wasn't showing symptoms but they knew that could change. after alex passed away zach was devastated. >> because hei ld to come off as the big tough guy and didn't let on as much. >> and two years ago zach took hishewn life. as 20. >> it was a huge, huge surprise. huge blow to us and m wes them oth so much every day but they'll always be in everything i do. >> that's why she went back to school to become a nurse. >> i'm going to listen to your heart. >> wanting to pay it forward and help families like hers. >> i like to think they're watching us and hi to keep going for them.
