anniversary of d-day. after sam elliott read about lambert's sfoirks lambert was a highly deck -- story. lambert was a highly decorated medic who landed on omaha beach on the d-day invasion and established a treatment area saving servicemen. as you head out on metro today, the summer shutdown has closed six metro stations south of reagan national airport. it's going to be closfor the next three months. that includes th blue and yellow lines. signs were posted at the king street station in alexandria over the weekend. we saw fences chained up. crews are repairing platforms in that area. for more on how to navigate the closures, open our nbc washington app and just search "summ" summer shutdown." new dials in a deadly -- new details inly a dead motorcycle crash. we know the identities of two people who were killed. the crash happened yesterday around 1:30. virginistate police say 62-year-old terry jenkins and his passenger, 37-year-old saras

jenkiwere riding a harley on the george washington parkway heading toward the beltway. authorities say jenkins lost control whi rounding a curve. he and jenkins were thrown and both died at the scene. police say the riders were not taking part in rolling shurthun. >> reporter: police are investigating a stabbing on mlk yesterday around 5:45 in southeast. may man was stabbed and suffered life threatening injuries. later authorities called it a homicide. information is limed right now, but we'll pass along more once we get it. rig now on news4, we are following the latest after that deadly tornado that struck west of oklahoma city late saturday. take a look at some of the damage that it left behind. goodness. in is in the small town of el reno. two people were killed and more than two dozen others hurt. among the destruction, a motel and mobile home park. people had minutes to seek shelter.
