rnight. 66 and 95, slow in the normal spots. eun? >> thank you. w to a southeast d.c. neighborhood where people say they wereze terrorid by two pit bulls. >> yesterday the dogs attacked two people. one woman was serious lly heart. finch with more on the attack and what police found in the owner's home. reporter: neighbors tell us for a long time they feared the pit bulls could really hurt someone, maybe each one of their in the neighborhood if the dogs were unsupervised as they often were. yesterday their fears became very real. once police investiged, the investigation took a turn toward drugs. more on that in a second. first, this surveillance video from a nghbor showing a teen boy taking his puppy out for a walk yesterday. we're concealing his identity, but you'll see he and his d are being followed and attacked

by the pit bulls. he suffered a hand injury trying to save himself and his pet. this is the same day that a woman taking her trash was also attacked by those same dogs. police were called. officers did shoot and kill one of the dogs. the other is now in animal custody. the investigation, though, on scene shifted a bit as police dogs lived found evidence of a marijuana operation. one said to be wide scale. d.c. police seeking a wrrant to learn more and gather more evidence about thaey th even called d.c. fire hazmat to come up there and take out butane believed to keep the marijuana plants warm inside the home. we talked to several neighbors on the scene, as well. one telling us this is not first time those dogs attacked a neighbor or police being called about it. >> this is the second time. my husband was chased. the dog wouldn't let him in the

good morning. >> reporter: good morning, you can see for yourself, they're hard to miss. painted bright red. you can see the lettereng he, it says "bus only." and starting on monday, drivers wse these dedicated bus lanes during rush hour, theyld cou get hit with a fi00 ne. the idea here is to get regular traffic out of these lanes so that the buds can go faster. the lanes are on h and i streets. that's around the white house that we're talking about here. and as you mentioned, sometimes the buses are only going about three miles an hour because of all of the traffic expect conte jeff sessions. that's not a n,eat situatio they're trying to -- trying to make it so the lanes are bussed only during the rush hour. you can park in the lanes in the off-peak hours. you can also take a right-hand turn from the lane down at the end of the block. this is a pilotprogram.

the other injured and taken into animnl custody. ghbors tell news4 they have been complaining for months about their neighbors and those do dogs. they tried to t rid of them because they say the dog owners were squatters. >> have to get them evicted. we've contacted the property managemtht company, and 're saying that they're waiting on a lockout date for the u.s. marshals. this has been going on since october of last year. >> reporter: again, the woman here bad lly hurt suffering injuries to her face and hands, as well. we can tell you this, too, a surprise the investigation as police were trying to get more evidence about this case about those dogs, they found signs of a wide-scale marijuana operation in the home. they go a warrant to learn more and had to call in d.c. fire and hazmat to remove butane tanks from the home. we'll bring you more on this case as it comes in.
