clscue alliance is here with advice on ing your four-legged friends in the big family ceremony. thank you for joinings today. >> sure. >> before we get into ins and outs of including your dog in your wedding which i fear could be complicated for certain breeds. let's talk about this guy here. who do you have for the dog of the week. >> this is sox and he is a year and eight months and a shepherd mix. we got him because he came from the -- he came in as a flooding survivor. so tulsa, oklahoma, floods they needed to transfer him out of the shelter because of that. >> people don't realize, there ian awful lot of flooding in tulsa but that part of the world and flooding in many states so i'm sure these type of situations are taking place a to teakgs do dan cats out of the danger nd get them adopted somewhere else. >> exactly. >> so it is a great network to move dogs to where they could
11:48 am
find a home because people aren't busy trying to clean up their home with a flooding situation. >> exactly. >> so he's 50 or 60 pounds and still very skinny so he won't be taller but mayup thicken >> he'll fill out. >> but super friendly and a great natured personality. and bow tie for the spirit of the wedding season. what are the dos and don'ts trying to include your dogs or cat or pets in the big ceremony. >> you want to know how well they whether -- will in crowds with people and many animals don't do very well. so there are other ways to he incorporate t besides the main ceremony. one of the things that you could do is have them hang out with ceremony. the weddin so while you are getting ready and you'r taking pictures with your wedding party as a smaller group and that is easier sometimes. >> mas good sense. >> you could also put them in the announcement pictures.
11:49 am
>> oh, yeah. >> so when you are saying we're going to get married, have them be in those pictures. or even put them in the progra and you canreven make you napkins, put littl engraved pictures of your pet on your napkins. >> all right. >> or any kind of party favors. >> like yousaid, i guess i haven't thought the crowd could be the biggest part of the concern. obviously if your going to have nd of fireworks or anything like that, that is part of the ceremony and the reception. we want to make su that your animal is capable of hearing the boom without getting fearful. >>definitely. you could have them hang out at a little bit later on just for a few minutes. >> and it can be fun. i was at a weg in augu tampa and my friends had the yorkie as the ring bearer. >> that is so cute. >> and murphy wandered down the middle of the aisle strapped on the back and it was cute and it be done with great success ot make sure they are not going to clearff the buffet. your dog would be
11:50 am
comfortable. >> and it depends, the dogs are moste. socia cats trickery to include. >> it depending on the cat but you are probably rht. i would say you want to harness train your cat to walk them down the aisle. they might be a little quieter. and some cats are really outgoing so those would be good option >> great. those are all great ideas there on whether it is on the actual ceremony or the invitations and stuff that is awesome. and a big reminder for everybody coming up, not too much longer from now, in itaugust, s the big clear the shelters event. >> right. >> so we'll be teaming up with the human rescue alliance and comcast nationwide to find as many animals new forever homes as we can in august. youould find out more about that information by going on to the nbc washington app and looking for it or go to humane rescue alliance.org and they'll have information on it on their website and go there to find out how to add sox to your family. so thank you very much for
