ere found unresponsive in a bedroom. evidence of trauma was found both bodies. a cause of death has not yet been released. it has been five tollways since a gunman -- five days since a gunman killed 12 people inside a virginia beach govnment building. while the community mourns, the issue of gugaviolence has ain taken center stage.th is morning, virginia golf ralph noxpham is eted to address the issue. he's long cbeen ahampion of gun control and safety esmeasur. just this january he announced w several l designed to prevent gun deaths in the commonwealth. he's expected to speak at 10:00 a.m. details about the investigation into the gunman have been made public. >> we know that thesuspect e-mailed a resignation letter the same day of the. shooting that e-mail has been released. the suspect simply wrote he was two-week notice and that, quote, it has been a pleasure to serve the city but due to personal reasons i must relieve my position. that's the end of the quote. he confirmed the last day would be june 14th.

substantiated. today the d.c. council is expected to pass a new law aimed at protecting district employees who use medical marijuana. medic marijuana isegal in the district, but employers are still allowed to test employees for cannabis. under the currentlaw, those people run the risk of losing their jobs. >> i somebody who inyou. qualifies for medical marijuana who has a card should not have their job in jeopardy. etter was sent to d.c. after a department of public works employees who had revealed they had medical marijuana cards. that letter directed them to stop using medical marijuana or face termination. d.c. law does not allow employees to use medical marijuana while on the job. good news for everyone who uses river road in montgomery county. that road is back open following emergency sinkhole repairs over the weekend. this is what it looked like last week when a large hole opened up betweenwe maidens drive and

in the region." d.c. mayor muriel bowser signed a biea yesterday creon new commission on health care. she tapped davidn cata to cover the group. he currently runs a lobbying firm whch has health care eroviders as clients. the privat data of up to 12 bllion patients of quest diagnostics maye at risk. we're talking about financial, medical, and personal information, all compromised following a data breach. quest diagnostics is one of the du country's rgest blood-testing providers. between august 30th and march 30th of this year, someone gained unauthorized access. that's quest's billing vendor. it was notified fday but has not received complete informatin about the breach.

lab results were not part of the breach. the measles crisis continues to grow with more confirmed cases. the cdc reports 41 new cases were confirmed last week. there are now 981 cases in 26 states. this is tes most cas reported in the country since 1992. the u.s. may lose its measles elimination status if the outbreak continues through the summer and fall. the disease was eclared eliminated back in 2000. again, the key is to vaccinate the children. that's what the doctors say. >> what the doctors say. politics takes center stage in england this morning. president trump is on his way to a business roundtable event with the outgoing british prime minister theresa may. trump and may are said to be in talks withs executive on trade and a possible post-brexit agreement. this is video of the two leaders during preous meetings. the two leaders are scheduled to hold a joint news conference later this morning. stay with nbc news for complete coverage of that. we will bring it to you live.

long today. afternoon highs will be bk up into the mid to upper 70 so a pretty nice day to be outside today. sunny, mild, light winds. i say variable because therea willnorthwest breeze this morning and a southwest breeze by the time the day comes to an end. tomorrow, southwest winds,e noticone. up over 20 miles per ho at times. so breezy, humid, a likelihood of some thundersrms aro here tomorrow afternoon.l this generaattern of storminess way out across the middle of the country starts to move in our direction. while we enjoy today have it this way. tomorrow, showers and storms are likely by later on ito the afternoon and evening. and once we get back into that pattern, there's almost no chance that i could take all the rain chances out of tomorrow or thursday. we're keeping them out of friday and saturday for now. but just know that that's -- staying dry friday and saturday, not a lot of confidence yet. we're optimistic more than confident. >> tell you what, all i'm rried about is today looks
