well. aaron? >> thank you. we are following some breaking news now in prince george's county. a man and a woman found dead in a home in clinton. >> t discovery was made late last night. news4's justin finch is live at the scene nowth wiew information. justin, what's going on? >> reporter: well, good morning. neighbors are waking up with a lot of questions here about what happened in their neighbor's home just behind us here. the corner townhouse there over the 5800 block here is where that incident has taken place. inside last night, police officers found a man and woman who were unresponsive and they would later pronounce dead in the home. looking at video from earlier in the investigationrgprince geos county police working to put together as much information as they can at this time aspossible. the details are not very

time agoearned a short that the woman who was pulled from the house fire has now died. she was trapped on the second floor of that house over there. you can see the ladder reaching into the window, and th window frame that's been collared by the flames. i also want to show you pictures from earlier. we are talking about a massive fire here. the entire house up in flames. every flower of the home including the attic. firefighters tell me when they got here, they found a man who escaped okay, and he told them the woman was still inside. that's when they went in the burning house to try and rescue her. they have not yet released her name. th still have to notify her family. firefighters say they have searched the whole house and confirmed no one else is trapped inside. investigators are just beginning the process of prying to figure out what caused the deadly fire. >>. >> all right. live in northeast. thank you. five days now since a gunman killed 12 people inside a virginia beach government building. while the community mourns, the

issue of gun violence is once again taking center stage. this morning, virginiarn gove ralph northam is expected to address the issue. the governor has long been a champion of gun control andet safmeasures. in january he announced several laws designed to prevent gun deaths in the commonwealth. he is expected to speak at0:00 this morning. meanwhile, details about the investigation into the gunman m have beene public. >> we know that the suspect e-mailed a resignation letter the same day of the thooting. e-mail has been releas. e suspect wrote he was giving her two-week notice and that, quote, it has been a pleasure to serve the city. but due to personal reasons, i must relieve my position. he confirmed his last day would be june 14th. hours later he was dead along with 12 other city workers. am ng those killed, christopher rapp who was the county's former director of public works. he will be remembered at a memorial service tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. at the armed services memorial on courthouse road. the public is welcome to

attends. coming up on 6:06. we now know what killed a prince george's county couple during their vacation. their families don't believe the autopsy report tells the full story. this is new cell phone video of cynthia day and her fiance nathaniel holmes taken just t hours beforeey were found dead in their hotel room in the dominican republic. ccording to investigators, the couple died of respiratory failure and pulmonary edema or excess fluid on the longs. they're looking at the possibility of carbon monoxide poisoning. they were found dead the day they wereupposed to return home. in a written statement, the family says in part, "at this time the cause of death remains a mystery. the rious theories have yet to be substantiated." today the d.c. council is expected to pass a new law aimed o use tecting employees medical marijuana. it's legal in the district, but employers are still allowed to test employees for cannabis. lander the current w, those

unresponsive. upon further check they were determined to be dead. both with trauma toheir upper body. no word just yet on what that means. they were pronounced dead in that home. police worked here for hours, going in and out to put together what led up to the discovery overnight. this area is not too fast from the costa regional park in clinton. the neighborhood n waking one a lot of questions about what happened in this home. police working to answer them. arut juster today we spoke with a woman who says the man found here is a father of her daughter, andwhhe told us at it was like to get that call. >> i received a message fromhe police. my mother was with [ bleep ] ustodial time. she was at childcare. and [ bleep ] never came to pick her up. this is atragedy. and i wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. i'm still in shock.
