intse, have heavier rain and we can see aig her storm srge. a new study coming out looking at the vertical wind shear and how it impacts hurricanes. all you need to know is itcts as an atmospheric barrier along the east coast, a lot of times to keep hurricanes off the coast preventing them from making landfall. what this study found as we continue to put greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, this is ausing the vertical wind shear to weaken. we already know we can get more intense hurricanes out there. as the vertical wind shear weakens this atmospheric barrier it will allow more intense on the east coast and to the west. his study, especially to the south, this study noting we could continue to see these ec changes, esplly noted these changes if we don't start to reduce our greenhouse gases by about 2040. in about 20 years, guys.

can see the green moving through our region right now, as we look at the storm team 4 radar. >> let's kick things off with storm team meteorologist, doug kammerer. how ugly will it be? >> in the south we will see some storms. d.c. metro and pnts to the west some storms but most seeing light shower activity. dry conditions in d.c. we have seen a couple showers develop, downpours around d.c. earlier. most of this very light around wincheste and luray and warrington area and leesburg. and down south where the sere thunderstorm watch is at staffordounty and maybe st. mary's county. that's really about it. watching one more downpour parts of montgomery county around the laurel region and the heaviest
