memorial. it's 4:35. upon -- happening today, there's a ceremony planned for the students killed last friday. it's called vb remembers. it will be a nondenominational service with multiple people participn ing. more t000 are expected to attend. 4:36. today grammy award-winning singer r. kelly will be back in a courtroomto face 11 new sex-related felony charges. during the arraignment, klly is expected to plead not guilty. the new charges stem from offenses that allegedly took place in 2010 and appear to involve one of the women named in previous charges againsthim. in february, r. kelly was charged with sexually abusing four women. three of whom were minors. he pleaded not guilty and still denies all accusations against him. he's facingn several decades i prison if convicted. today marks 75 years since the d-day invasion, and these localigh school bands in france are helping to remember the d-day operation. >> the herndon high school band is there and carrying memos from crew that served during the vasion. now live pictures from normandy as ceremonies get underway there. ihe invasion was the largest seaborne invas in history. it helped bring an end to world war ii. you're looking at some of the live pictures of some of the veterans who served in normandy, participating in events today. president trump will be joining this group. the official ceremony starts at about 5:00 a.m. our time. the president is expected to speak there. back here in d.c., for hours yesterday 9,000 names of d-day troops were read aloud by volunteers at the world war ii memorial. this morning we're hearing from a veteran himself. he's sharing his memories of the invasion. >> think about that time, i get a sick feeling, yu know.

qualify. now a new appropriations committee report lifts a requirement for a new systemwidl paid famive system to be created. details could be released as y as january. new, there's a quarantine tt the spread of an invasive insect in virginia. take a look. this is the spotted lantern fly. interesting. quarantine applies t frederick county, virginia, and the city of winchester. you will need to apply for a shipping permit to move pot plants, mulch,firewood lumber, qhicles, and other things outside of theuarantined area. the spotted lantern fly attacks fruit trees by feeding on the sap. it leaves behind a sticky fluid that can cau a growth of fungi and mld which damages the trees. they sound dangerous. this dark green spot on the national weather service's rada over san diego had people waiting for a torrential downpo downpour. it wasn't weather at all. it's a cloud of lady bugs apparently. meteorologists believe the bloom is about 80 milesby 80 miles.
