>> reporter: pat, it all began with a robbery here at the united gun shop on randolph road in rockville. you could see the damage done when the suspects drove a car into the front of the store. now things quicklyca ested from there. aff responding police oer fired on the suspects afterhey t his cruiser. one of the suspects is now dead. four others are still on the loose. policeou tweeted this picture of the stolen car used to ram the front of the uniteop gun s on randolph road. you could see all of the guns hanng on the wall. the suspects then used a second escape.ar to make their but they were confronted by police officers in the parking lot. investigators say the suspects rammed the policer cuiser. this picture shows the damage. e bumper that was torn off. the officer then opened fire. about two blocks down randolph the getaway car broke dwn in front of loemanns plaza.pe

one s was found dead with a gunshot wound in the car and three stolen handguns wereound nearby. four other men bailed out and ran into the surrounding neighborhood. a bag of guns was fnd in someone's backyard but the robbers got away. >> creeped out. it is pretty scary. n this is something that happens here in in neighborhood at all and to hear that guns were found four houses down from me inhe backyard is very creepy. >> reporter: police searched the neighborhood but no luck. investigators still aren't sure how many guns the thieves m e off with. >> going through the store, doing an investigation to try to have an inventory ofat ay have been stolen, and we need to determine based upon the number of weapons that we recovered what may still be outstanding. making hey are still that count, that assessment of how many guns may be on the street. of course the search for the suspenus conti. police have not released the
