thank you very much. meantime, we are following breaking news out of the t districts morning. one person is dead, another in the hospital after another double shooting in southeast this weekend. police found two victims in the middle of fourthar street not f from southern avenue and the maryland line. officers say a man was shot several times in the torso and died. hea woman was shot in teg and is expected to survive. investigators say that they are on the lookout for a silver four-door nissan sedan in connection with this case. no word what may have led to that shooting. this morning a prince george's county family is heartbroken aftoy a teenage b is struck and killed by a car. it happened yesterday afternoon on church road and fairview vistarive in bowie. family and friends gathered at the intersection to remember him. prince george's county police say the honors student wasn't far from home when a driver hit him and that person stayed the scene. neighbors are rallying around the devastated family and they say that stretch of road is dangerous.

weo died was driving the wrong way. rought you this as breaking news yesterday morning. police say a driver was headed east on the westbound lanes ofr oute 50 near martin luther king jr. highway and we're told the driver also caused a separate crasbefore colliding with the car and tractor-trailer. one person was flown by medevac to a hospital. we're working to find out why the driver who died was going in the wrong direction. meantime, the fate of a notorious drug kingpin is being discussed in an open forum. rayful edmond is currently serving a life sentee. he ran one of the most prolific drug rings in the district. decades later the public is getting a chance to weigh in on r or not he should get out of prison early. people gathered in southeast yesterday. edmond was convicted in 1990. he spent the last 30 years cooperating with the governmet. a judge is deciding whether that help entitlemen entitlements him to a shorter sentence.

welcome back. thsi've been best friends e kindergarten. and after 70 plus years, th have gone from boys to men through good >> i can't imagine that relationship dynamic. i tried to give you a little taste of it here. they say anacostia, southeast, was fertile ground for their success. i wasca lucky enough to mp up with the so-called kindergarten crew at the school where they met. >> reporter: garfield elementary school is where seven decades of friendship started. >> back ephome. ter: they are affectionately known as the kindergarten crew. back to class where so much has chged since 1945. >> so small. >> reporter: all best friends today. >> we didn't have guns o access

followed a woman off the metro and sexually assaulted her. police say 19-year-old wondimagegn azemach is charged with sexual batter investigators say on thursday morning he followed the woman into a building on jeffers davis highway, cornered her inside the elevator and sexually assaulted her. that attack happened just aseo manyle were getting ready to go to work. azemach is being held without bond. new this morning, gunfire claims the lifef a man in riverdale. this happened last officers were called for a reported shooting on patterson street and oce on the scene they found a man laying on the ground and had been shot several times. al, as rushed to the hosp later pronounced dead. so far no arrests announced in this case. we are working to learn a motive and we will post the information in the nbc washington app. new details in a deadly i double sho in southeast d.c. police say the incident was not

i don't think they will dissipate that quickly. i think they may stay together. we wi have to watch as they approach i-95. we will keep that chance at least through noon for showers. no storms. then after two that's when we can see some storms. but watch. t everybody gonna seehem. as they move through, we will keep a chance to about 6:00 p.m. tonight. and then maybe a little lull. i am gopng to k another chance for only showers and possibly a few thunderstorms late tonight and into the overnight. there could bene or two showers around for that morning commute. but tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow evening more scattered showers and storms and i'm more worried about those tomorrow. we could have flooding issues especially if they stick he afternoon, twill not be moving all that quickly, so wto have watch that. this is the first thunderstorm. we are seeing showers out there. that's what we'll see until about noon, especially west of d.c. another chance on tuesday. another chance on wednesday. another chance on thursday. it will be humid. a frontal system is stalled and that's why we have a chance for
