inside they found 37-year-old richfield chang dead on the floor. his girlfriend nearby. e had been hit a number of times. today i talked by phone to chang's girlfriend. she's in the hospit recovering from the gunshot wounds. she says the two were planning to get married and that she misses him. she misses him so much. she says the guy who did the shooting was supposedly a friend, and when they saw he had a gun, they asked him to leave the apartment. that's when opened fire. this kind of murder at this kind of place, well, let's just say it got pple'sattention. >> they have all that security, and you just tonight know what's going to come out of that. you never know. >> it's scary to think about

lower court rules against them and sent the case back for a new round of hearings. >> and no change to a long-standing double jeopardy rule that allows state fed eral courts to put someone on trial for the same crime. the justices ruled that the courts are separate sovereigns. the case attracted attention because of the prospect of presidentrump could pardon his former campaign manager paul manafort. today's ruling assures a presidential pardon wouldot protect manafort from the state charges he faces in new york. some new developments now in a story we've been following president trump's re-election campaign is now cutting ties with some of its own pollsters. all of this started lost month when the "new york times" reported the president told his aides to deny internal polling that showed he was trailing former vice president joe biden. nbc news has obtained new fr details om that poll done in march. it found the president trailing b in swing states that are

a young man who rescued a young mother from a potential deadly dog attack is sharing history. the attack took place in the stonewall estate subdivision in spotsylvania county. as bureau chief julie c learned this isn't the first time the dogs were involved in an attack. >> reporter: danny canter was driving home from work last wednesday when he heard screams and saw ang frighteniscene. >> i saw a lady on the ground with the dog falling her and my first instinct was to put the truck in park and getnd out run. >> the young woman had her newborn inside the house was being attacked in her front yard. one of the family's six dogs was biting her leg. this is what the breed looks like on the akc's website. it looked like shead been attacked by sharks, the bites were so brutal and bad. >> reporter: another neighbor and men from a landscapin went after the dog with tools. >> i yelled the word out like i
