just about een is under a flash flood watch until 11:00 p.m. so storms could contain rainfall rates of 1 inch an hour. remember, turn around don't drown. in addition to that, some downpours are likely. and some scattered thunderstorms as well. and speaking to those storm chances, the national weather rvice has now also issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of the counties here in pink. this is the entire d.c. metro area back through loudoun county and down through southern maryland. the chance for severe thunderstormsñi will stick arou until about 10:00 p.m. tonight. timing coming up right around 4:20. >> and in addition to the timing, what he will are you concerned about, stronginds or heavy rain? >> i think tonight the stret for severe storms is a ltle lower compared to yesterday. so i'm more concerned about tonight, some very heavy rainfall especially as we head into the evening hours. even towrd dnight, we could still be dealing with heavy rain in spots.

through this region. >> and where isverything right now? >> well, most of the activity is still south and west of the metro area. but very ch likelast night, over the next few hour, we'll see rain and storms moving in. however i think that that threat forevere weather tonight is a little bit lower compared to yesterday. that being said though, the nats at home once again tonight, takingn the phillies. of course last night the game was completely postponed until tomorrow. nowthonight, i think that game could be delayed maybe even postponed once again. 6:00 p.m., heading down to nats a temperature around 84, some thunder potentially in the area. the game under way at 8:00. there is a chance for rain down there at about 40% to 50. otherwise it is muggy, mild and temperatures for the game starting off in the low 80s and wrapping up in the upper 70s. so if you are headg down to the ballpark, pack the poncho and potentially the patience as well. as we talk about the severe impacts tonight, biggest concern i'm seeing is heavy rainfall that could lead to isolated

flooding. we could see some ponding of water on area roads. next up, i'm concerned aboutro st winds potentially gusting up to 60 miles an hour and hail up to a quarter size tonight e could b the case. very small risk, almost nonexistent for an isolated tornado. talking about the rain and whert is on storm team 4 radar right now, you can see some of this activity down into th stafford, soun fauquier and culpeper counties. and then up along 95. quantico seeing moderate rain right woodbridge, that is the closest tthe metro area. in esburg, light showers are moving in. but it is hot and humid so i still think that we could see ome thunderstorms bubbling up. but again, i'm not thinking that risk is as great as it was yesterday. you do need to be weather ready. let's time it out with future weather, p00 ., notice it is still picking up on rain, mainly

his base lookin forward to tonight's message. >> i expect to hear how he will keep america free and how we're all going to work together. >> reporter: as the president officially kicks off his campaign for re-election. jay gray, nbc new orlando. and now to the crisis at the order and its impact on communities there. 35 miles north of the u.s.-mexico border is a small town that has opened its doors to asylum seekers. t now the cost is overwhelming the community. nbc news was granted exclusive access into that migrant facility. and joining us now is cynthia mcfadden. and you visited demming. how bad is it? >> reporter: well, you know, the crisis really starts with the federal government. as you know, 0500,0people were arrested coming over the border

for entering illegally just since january. 100,000 of those people were f applyingor asylum. federal officials say that they were overwhelmed. so what they have started doing is dropping, critics would say dumping, migrants into some of the small border towns.mi deg is one of them. and on mother's day weekend, the folks in demmingoke up to find 250 migrants, men, women and little bitty kids had been left by the border patrol at the local mcdonald's. they didn't know where they were, they didn't have any money or any food. and so what was really heartwarming is that the folks in demming rose to the occasion, they emptied outheir closets, refrigerato refrigerator, they moved the fire department out to the fairgrounds. they set up a shelter and processing center since that mother's day weekend about a month ago, they have processed 6700 migrants seeking asylum. and they say it is costing them they $17,000 a day th don't have. >> if
