now at 6:30, an update on storm team 4 weather alert. look at this live picture of the rain coming down hard on the beltway in fairfax county. this is near gallows road. >> looks almost blinding. we have several watches and warnings in effect tonight. >> amelia draper is tracking it for us. what is going on out there? >> and you can see on radar an absute mess on some of our most traveled roads. the entire beltway dealing with some degree of rain. and back alg 66, dull letes tol

there. we could see some gloflooding i along 66 and lehigh valley over the nt couple of hours. the biggest threat tonight is going to be heavy rainfall. maybe some strong gusty windsy mae some hail. but i'm not as concerned about that. and i'm definitely not seeing a risk for a tornado out there. really the focus is the potential for some flooding. and it is mainly in the areas seeing rain right now and areas just off to the east. so prince george's county and anne arundel county as mawell. assas is seeing heavy rainfall. most of fairfax county. arlington and alexandria seeing moderate rain out there.is manas and i see the intensity to b picking up. and if you are in fairfax county and interests of thnside of the beltway, you can see it in about an hour and a half in the district and then it will shift off to the east of i-95.

some heavier rain also south of fredericksburg and then notice north of the beltway, almost completely dry. there north of the beltway, only the chance for a few showers out there tonight. i think the heavy rainfall continues to favor the metro area and areas aloned a soug an of 66. you see it will shift into prince george's county. really bright chores, this is why most of us arender a flash flood watch through late tonight. once we hit 10:00, the threat winds down. but even midnight, still a few scattered showers out there. but we should be mostly dry early tomorrow morning. and r then is bring done the high of 88 to a more confident about 74 in washington. a butas that haven't seen any rain, still sitting in the low 80s. frederick, gaithersburg, leesburg as well. tomorrow a high of 84.
