monica goldson who was named permanent school ceo yesterday. goldson took over as thenterim ceo after former ceo resigned amid scdal last year. she is the prince georges county she has been with the school for 40 years as a student, teacher and administrator. d.c. police credit the man accused of committing a series of burglaries to his sneakers. he targeted at least five homes in the capital hill area since the beginning of this month. they arrested him on sunday. police were able to catch cole after an officer recognized his brightly colored high top sneakers from surveillance video. they say hey not onl wore the same shoes but wore the same clothes. now to a update on story we first brought you during the government shutdown in february.

ndxt story. mandatory stads to improve the safety of highchairs take effect today. >> consumer reporter susan hogan is working with you with what you need to know to keep your baby safe. well, good morning, you guys. i'm joined by patty davis with the consumer product safety commission. this is exciting news. let's get right into it, because this is certainly something that a lot of parents wo know. so this is a highchair you said that meets the new federal standards, mandatory. >> that new federal standard goes into fect today. what it has now is an increased stability requirement.so so in case mebody climbs up or climbs out or is rocking back and forth t highchair is not going to tip over. it also has tougher testing requirements for these straps they don't just come apart whe your child is in the highchair. and this warning label really important it's much bolder and actualllling parents and care givers that kids have suffered severe head injuries including skull fractures from falling.

wednesdnd thursday night at 9:00 p.m. last night president trump's focus ma have been 2020, but today he'll no doubt keep an eye on capitol hill. president trump's former communications director hope hicks will testi behind closed doors before the house judiciary committee. this is just theatest part of a series of on going investigations into his administration. the committee is expected toes quon hicks about possible instances of presidential misconduct and obstruction of justice as edetailed in th mueller report. well, you probably already been stuck in raffic ate memorial bridge since the restoration work started there last year. it's been pretty hectic to get through there. >> took me a while to get through there yesterday. now there's a new project in the works for memorial circle. now that's the big traf circle on the other side of the river from the lincoln memorial and now the national park service wants to make some improvements. it's sll figuring out the costs and trying to get some money together, too. right now the plan includes putting in walk signals, ov
