county courthouse. tell us more about what happened there today. >> reporter: yeah, pat. a lot to unpack here, but first i wanted to explain to you the point of today, the preliminaryo hearing is t lay out all the evidence to determine if there's enough to proceed to trial so we heard from seven witnesses, inuding the woman who was attacked. she says that good samaritan who stepped in to try to save her hi and died doing so should have never intervened in the first place. for the first time we're hearing from the girlfriend of michael nash. in october of 2018 nash's girlfriend says they were walking along the 1300 block ofe south ge mason drive in arlington at around 9:00 at night near these food trucks. she says the two of were arguing, nash was yellirh at he and moments later she says hert ta beating her,in tgak sexually. on the witness stand, the girlfriend said she was screaming.that's when

g aood samaritan tried to help her. they described how nash started to beat dsalazar's hea to the ground and salazar later died of his injuries and nash'sie girlfr doesn't see salazar as a hero and never should have intervened. the court also heard from bradley flood, the man who came running to the scene after hearing a woman flood testified that he tried helping salazar by turning him on to his back, but minutes lar salazar stopped breathing. the defense tried pointing outt t it's possible that salazar died from a punctured lung, something that happened when flood turned him over. defense attorneys also questioned the pesu's girlfriend about posts she made on facebook hos after t crime, coming to nash's defense by saying he has a mental illness and that demons were harassing him. now nash didn't show any emotion while sitting in court today. is family was seated just

takedown that showed a transit officer using a stun gun multiple times saturday eveninge metro tlls us ty are looking t iiso ncident andconduct. an interesting twist at the hearing for a man who was charged in the death of a goods aritan. prosecutors say michael neighbor petepa tricio salazar who had rushend to help a woman u attack, but in court today that woman who was the girlfriend of ushe acc said that salazar, the good samaritan, should never have intervened in that attack. prince william county police identified two women found murdered in the woods on saturday. a passerby found the bodies of jairo mayorga and mton lopez near a market and an elementary school just off featherstone road. residents say both mre known to visit ween tsinesses i hat area. police say they do not believe there's any public safety concerns. no arrests have been made. and the activist group code
