mueller will awer questions about his two-yearlong russia investigation and the parts of that 448-page r ort that have been released to the public. now, mueller agreed tonight to testify after being subpoenaed. and the letter that was attached to the subpoena says that although mueller prefers his written work to speak for itself, "the american public deserves to hearirectly from you about your investigation and conclusions. ns will work with you to address legitimate concerbout preserving the integrity of your work, but we expect that you will appear before our committee as scheduled." chairman of the house intelligence committee congressman adam schiff joined rachel mabcow on msn tonight to talk about what we can expect. >> we have the opportunity to flesh out what the russians did, how they did it, what the role of the trump campaign personnel were, what were the counterintelligence issues, what was the process used to handl the counterintelligence concerns, where are the findings. all of these questions and a great many more. >> for both committees will be held back to back.

agenda. the controversy arose over a leesburg proclamation celebrating the end of slavery. councilman dunn wrote a comment "juneteenth is a celebration. lynching is not." >> it leaves us feeling as if we lives atter, as if bla don't matter. it laevds us feeling lynched. >> reporter: equality loudoun is upset about a comment made in a leesburg pride proclamation. dunn was not there but council member thiel wrote in the spot reserved for dunn's signature "everyone is equal. identities don't help." >> we've had murders of transgender women of color in d.c. people are really scared right now. and you had an opportunity to do something respectful and you il fa. >> reporter: but other members of the community defended the councilmen for speaking their minds. >> and all of a suddenroups d individuals are coming in and telling you you don't know how to run your town. >> reporter: council members dunn and thiel both declined our requests for comment on camera.

10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.sh establi hotline for reporting illegal parking. reduce sidewalk speed limits to 6 miles per hour. increase the street speed limit to 15er miles p hour. require payment to cover pubprc perty damage. again, most riders t we talkedo like the new rules. >> i think it all sounds pretty reasonable. i would say as scooter rider we just want to stay safe, especially on the road. so increasing the speed limit would allow us to keep up with traffiand not feel like we're falling behind. >> i think a lot of it makes sense. definitely there's a lot of . danger to it riding at night can cause some issues. definitely people being intoxicated while riding is an issue. >> reporter: now, this bill would also establish electric scooter parking areas. now, it's expected to be introduced a few months from now in the fall. again, council member mary che's office says it is necessary for safety. in northwest d.c. i'm shomari stone, news 4. archbishop wilton d.

from a dental school or dentist. the victim hasn't yet been identified. tonight we're working for you making sure you stay safe on the roads. >> our consumer team recently alerted transportation officials to a problem with two guardrails on a busy commuter route in maryland. and those guardrails have now been replaced. susan hogan has our story. >> reporter: yesterday we told you about concerns surrounding a particular type of guardrail end piece called the xlight.

during that reporting we made a discovery that could have been putting your safety at risk and took action. >> and for this system to trigger properly -- >> reporter: steve eimers is a father on a mission. d hisughter died in 2016 after krark into an xlight guardrail. >> telescoping down. >> reporter: we recently met him at this xlight guardrail at river road in bethesda so he could show us his concerns. but while we were there he noticed something. >> this is an improperly installed xlight here. >> why is that? how can you tell? >> this should be right here. there should be a two-inchck blo washer right here. >> reporter: steve pointing out a bolt that was installed in the wrong place. we found th video from the maine department of transportation confirming steve's observation. >> r ke sure that post numbe this is a critical piece for this tainsation. make sure that the washer -- or the bolt and the nut are on the front side of this post.

alady in the 60 d.c., though, still at 81 right now at this hour. it's on the warm side here. take a look at the numbers. at saw plenty of sunshine today. high temperure of 90 degrees at the airport. most areas upper 80s.in 9 baltimore, 91 as well in annapolis but 81 in d.c.b notice this is again, we call it's urban heat islandfe ef because it's much warmer in the urban areas. and you notice 81 d.c., 82 over toward annapolis.at th because it's closer to the water. but 69 in gaithersburg, 68 in manassas. 64 back toward winchester. always cooler in some of the suburbs areas. and we'll continue to see that. nice night and a nice morning for you folks in the in the city it's still going to ot too he warm side but bad there either. nothing on the radar. we are dry. we will stay that way really over the next couple of days. we're entering a little bit of a different period. now, most of june has been very wet and fairly cool. high temperatures on the cooler side. average high telfhones deini definitely cooler than average most of the month. that includes most of the

country. not much going on countrywide. a couple of storms in the mile part but that's about it. i want to show you what's been happening. this has been the prevailing pattern. cool to the north. talking about areas like colorado which has seen snow over the past couple of days in toward the mountains. minneapolis we saw snow in south dakotath very hot wea down to the south. cool over toward parts of the northeast. for us right in the middle of bu this, things are going to change in a very big way. the heat is really going to take its toll and in places like minneapolis getting up into the 100 degree range as far as the heat index. chicago on the hot side. enver into the 90s this week. our area in new england into the upper 80s and 90s for us. it will be a heat wave. we started it today with at high of 90. i think we get even warmer tomorrow. high temperature tomorrow right up to about 93 degrees after a r sta around 78 degrees by 9:00 a.m. by the time most of us are getting in to work. 87 degrees by 1:00. lunch going to be on the hot side. again, humidity going to be not too big of an issue. so if you've got some shays it should be okay but in the sun it's going to be a hot one.
