this morninfire officials are investigating a massive fire that engulfed a large home in irfax county. chopper 4 flew high over the scene last night. flames tore through this home on clarks branch avenue in great falls. several fire departments had to lend a hand. we're told it was so intense that crews had to leave the inside of the home and fight the flames from the outside. fortunately everyone iide the home was able to get out safely. and this morning we'rea lerning more about the victims of a t iagic accidentn arlington. a woman was killed by a tree while out for an afternoon walk on thursday. just tragic.rd yeste many people paid tribute at the spot louise peabody was fatally struck by a falling tree limb on a walking a trl. she was a recently retired certified public accountant and was the first woman partnerat her d.c. year based accounting firm. as family and friends struggle

surge protectors may pose a fire hazard. two investigations were nducted and found the product wasn't defective, instead the agency concluded the cause was a grounding issue during installation and closed the case. int statemen to customers aypco says it pl no role in the manufacture or design of either model. the products only carry the company's name because they were th distributeor and have since stopped selling the surge protectors. they've offered to remove and replace the device. even though the devices are no longer being sold there could be thousands still in use. the company sold more than . 300,0 and that's why ian contacted nbc 4 responds. >> i thought to myself there ha t a way to raise public awareness and get people out in their yards looking at these to make suem they don't have th installed in their house. >> so if you want to check whether you have one of these particular surge protectors on your ac units here's what you

welcome back. northern virginia woman got a trip to jail this week after she as accused of going to great lengths to get prescription drugs. she's accused of stealing identities to get wor in medical offices. in a story younly seon news 4, northern virginia bureau chief julie carey tells us being convicted didn't stop the woman from trying it all over again. >> reporter: joie j clark, her real name, these are the mug shots taken after she was jailed. these court documents detail the scheme she uses to get her hands on prescriptionrugs. nicole whitman is the attorney. >> it is unusual in that she took someone else's identity and then got a job at a medic office. i've not personally seen anyone go to that length. >> reporter: it started in

loudoun in 2016 wn clark stole her own sister's identity to get aob at the nationa sports medicine institute. she worked inside this building scheduling appointments. she was also using her boss's name, the doctor's name, to fill rbprescriptions at a nea cvs. she got caught, was fired and faced multiple charges. last year clark pleaded guilty to the charges connected to her job at this medical office. when the time c e in december for her sentencing, she was a no show, a fugitive. there's now a new mug shot. there's investigation that she used a different name to get a job at yet another doctor's office. she's accused of writing prescriptions and once again she got caught. here's a look at what police seized from her apartment, among the items, lots of pill bottles. whitman says prescription fraud remains a big problem. >> in terms of the efforts people go to get these substances, it's a pretty steady and constant diet that we get of
