area o fairfax county. fire caused damage to the back of the house today. investigators are looking into the cause. so in fairfaxcounty, an update on that massive fire that we first brought you as breaking news at y11:00. do remember this scene? chopper 4 over this and you can see the flames shooting through the rooftop of the home on clarks branch road in the great falls area. nvestigators say one firefighter had minor injuries, two people inside escape without getting hurt. still working to find out whatc ed that fire. we aill in weather alert mode. it has been a very active afternoon in term of storms. a lot of folks seeing hail in this area and seems like we just can'shake this pattern of stormy weather we've had and hail. it's very unlike this area. i can't remember the last time we had this many weeks in a row

where seeing reports of hail. >> a lot of damage out there. the good news is we're actual seeing a nice stretch of weather ahead of us. for now, another nasty sall line. it came in roaring. sparking severe thunderstorm warnings earlier. the good news is we're starting see it lose its zeal a little bit. heavy rain though. the linemsf stor you can see where at this point, the severe threat has shifted farther west along the squall line back into the west virginia panhandle and western maryland, even prompting some flash flood warnings. closer to home, it's just rain now. still some lightning out there. winds probably still picking it up alittle bit out there. this line is going to make its way through into prince william, fairfax into the district and northern prince georges, moving into the southeast. so after midnight, we will start to see things letting up and hour by hour, temperatures are expected to level out in the 70s.
