humid. we will have to deal with a stalled front draped back through the midwest and into mid-atlantic. that's along the front boundary where we could see pop-up showers and storms. later in the ineven those should fizzle out. our best chance is through the plains and the upper midwest. on friday, ourha best ce of heavier rain is down along the mideast. you need to keep ano eye t the sky, watch for the dark clouds, listen for thunder and keep inm some of these storms could be strong as they move through. same story for saturday. sur best chance of our most numerous stoill be up and down the east coast. basically, the eastern third of the country. in am middle of the country, it's h and humid. there are no problems out that way, especially if you're o travelin sunday. no problems whatsoever. our best chance of summertime storms is through the mid-atlantic, through theap lachians and ohio and tennessee river valleys on sunday. those will be your traubl spots on the road.

into the summer season, harris' debate stage challenge to biden's civil rights record remains the moment reverberant most among voters. >> it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two unitestates senators who built their reputations and career on segregation of race in this country. garrett, we're getting new fund-raising numbers, who has the most support and what are these numbers telling us? he we haven't seen the totals from all t candidates yet, but right now, it's mayor pete in front with nearly $25 million raised in the second quarter. joe biden coming in second place in that total with about $21.5 million, altugh he's beenn the race nearly a month less. fund-raising numbers show us a lot about how these candidates garening support beyond what we see in the polls. i asked mayor pete yesterday how he's going to spend all this money. said a lot will go to hiring staff, including right here in iowa.

and welcome back, everyone. nothing puts a damper on a summer night more than swarms of mosquitoes leaving itchy, uncomfortable bug bites. medical contribute dr. natalie azar has tips to keep your next outdoory activitug free. let's start off, how can you try to keep the bugs away in your own home and surrounding areas? >> a couple things you can do at home. have a fan outside with you. two reasonswhy. number one, the fan will disperse odors that mosquitoes are attracted to, and they're also notoriously bad fliers. if you have a fan next to you,

that can help keep them awr. hing to do is wear light colored clothing. mosquitoes are drawn to dark colors. if you see something on you liko a tickr something, it's obviously easier to see. >> i get a lot of bug bites standing outside the white house. i'm just going to prop up a fan. >>nd a reminder, make sure your screens don't have holes in them. it can go a long way. >> repellent. >> we have three product the cdc recommds. deet is the active ingredient in off. that's the toughest stuff. you want to look for 20% to 30% deet. if you are looking for something more natural, one is called oil of lemon eucalyptus which is refined from the eucalyptus tree. that can be used on anybody but not on children under the age of three. >> strong enough? >> very strong. the other one is something that is a synthetic version of something found in the black pepper pl at. this cano be used.
