move in, in the afternoon and evening. any storms we do see could be severe. ooking at the radar right now, it's fizzled out and just turning into light rain in southern marand. right there we actually saw lightning, heavy rain. that was a thunderstorm bubbling up this early in the game. kind ofag setting the st for what we're going to see later in the day. temperatures right now already on a race to the high. 87 in the ditrict. 88 in gaithersburg. all the way up to ederick, really hot. we're going to the low 90s this afternoon. it's going to be a hot and humid soupy kind of day. shows and stormsagain really beginning after 2:00 p.m. more widespread. for your fourth of july outlook, the morning iexercs, if you're waking up now, getting ready to hit the pavement, it is muggy out there. barbecue parties, be able to moveindoors. fireworks, some of us, not everyone, but some of us will be impacted. we'll talk more about the rain chances and i'll take it hour by hour. >> thanks, somara.

developing this morning, police havete activa an amber alert that abducted a 2-year-old boy from warren county. take a good look at your screen. this is raiquan allen ashby. he was abducted yesterday in thront royal. mack far land learned about a new probe to cancel the move out of d.c. an internal justice department watchdog will review why the fbi chose to keep the hoover building downtown instead of moving it to prince george's or fairfax counties. house democrats say president trump may have opposed the move because he didn't want commercial developers to take over the property and compete directly with the trump hotel. they also feel the current fbi headquarters is aging and is too small. we're learning new details about another shoppers foods set to close in our area. in a statement to news 4, shoppers company says the store at 7 corners in falls church will begin its liquidation sale on monday. that sale is expected to last through august 3rd. the location will be turned into a giant food store this fall. last week, many sh ppers' employees protested.

we tend to lose the zeal we had during the day. i think we'll have enough instability that we'll have storms during the day. here's the radar. you can see stuff trying to situate itself and pop nothing major right now. butup this is ju.st the incepti of the storms that are moving ou thr, going to be moving through today back west seeing a lot of activity out towards reas like petersburg. now, check out this green. this green is denoting afl flas d watch that was issued within the last half hour by the national weather service until 8:00 p.m. that's saying we're going to see copious amounts of rain in a short amount of time so, yeah, notice the areas in green. that's srobably where we'll the powerful storms pop up. downpours are likely andtt scaed in nature. not everyone seeing it, but fast forwarding through this evening, showers and storms pop. i went to 8:00 because i know a lot of folks want to know, what about the fireworks and like i said, happening closer to sunset

time. this model keeps us kind of dry at that hour. am i buying it? not completely. i think there will be pockets, isolated showers and storms at that time. hat will increase our chances of having acent fireworks show. that's good news. however you cut it, you need to make sure you're prepared with the rain gear just in case ast orm pops over your area. friday moing, quiet. and moving into friday afternoon, another round of showers and storms is expected. okay. so re's the impacts with these storm.in particular heavy rain. that's why they issued that flash flood watch. e're expecting very heavy downpours withthis. another thing with the storms, especially with the heating out there, lots of lightning. okay? so if you' in a pool, you want to be able to jump out really quick because i think these storms will be packed with lightning. some strong winds in there. i think the hail end of at that spectrum is on the low side. we're at 87 degrees in the district and climbing.
