here's the latest on storm team 4 radar, a few olated showers firing up into parts of montgomery county, frederick county as well and keeping a close eye on this line of s. storm this is where we're going to to pull most of our storm chances from tonight as it slowly moves towards the east at 15 miles an hour based on the latest track. winchester can anticipate rain at about 5:30,uray at 6 sock and leesburg 7:45. however, i do suspect it will increase in speed as it continues to move to the east. we're at 90 degrees right now with a southerly wind and high humidity levels though. it's feeling more like 98 out there. 98 is the heat index in frederick and f 1ling about down in quantico. pat? >> so, amelia, are you thinking thes storm tomorrow could be severe? >> i am thinking that storms tomorrow have a better chance of being severe compared to tonight.th the biggest at tomorrow is going to be heavy rain as well as strong gusty winds. tonightce more con about more heavy rainfall out there.

flag-rning scuffles nearhe white house. two people have been arrested. one is charged with obstruction is aioolice investigat and resisting arrest. the arrest followed this chaotic scene on pennsylvania avenue where a protester set fire to the american flag. turns out he had a permit to burn the flag but not in that area. three people including two secret service ofcers were treated at scene for minor injuries. flames tear through a d.c. home overnight after a fireworks wrong. fortunately everyone inside escaped, and fire investigators say this near disaster llustrates the danger of illegal fireworks. news 4's derrick ward is live on the scene in northwest washington to tell us more about this. derrick, what in the world his house?t >> well, you know, i've had a neighbor come out and say they think a rocket might have ricochetted into a window upstairs.

three vehicles involved in a crash here on powder mill road in beltsville in prince george's county. i want to give you how bad of a ash we're talking. take a look at the blue car there. you'll notice th the roof was cut off. it's on the ground. a lot of debris from that vehicle scattered all over the roadway there. three vehicles involved in the crash. we know two people were extracted from a car. a total of seven people rushed to the hospital. if you turn over here, you'll see that this is the third vehic that was involved in this accident just after 2:00 this morning. the roadway, of course, shut down as investigators try and iece together the pieces and understand what happened out here. that is the very latest. reporting fromge prince geor county, meagan fitzgerald, news 4. >> we are learningutore abo the victims killed this week in deadly jetski crash in maryland. the husband and wife have a to connection the washington wizards. the team owner tweeting his condolences to the family of

jeffrey sessions. he was ceo of a company capped ed river which is a partner of monumental sports. leansis says sessions was also a season ticket holder and traveled to the team in london last year for the game. sessions and his wife elizabeth howell died on wednesday when their jetski crashed into a mark in the south river in edgewater. >> seven people including a billionaire call executive from westre virginia dead in a helicopter crash. chris klein is among the dead s along with hi daughter no. other names have been released at this point. klein was also a well-known fill on the pivotil donating mlions of dollars to marshal university in west virginia. >> the teenager who accused actor kevin spacey of groping him in a bar hasro ded his civil suit. mitchell garebean filed for voluntary dismissal of a suit. no word on why. he claimed spacey spotted him at a bar in nantucket.

andlort roya about 6:25. based on this latest track. i'm also tracking meager showers popping up to parts of montgomery and lount young and as you head from virginia to maryland. eing some light rain around there as well as around the damascus area more moderate rainfall so some showers here and there, by think most of us stay dry out there tonight, and here's future weather to show you wh i'm talking about. 5:00 p.m., notice that shower up around baltimore and still that thunderstorm activity mainly back over the mountains. 7:00 p.m., not much has changed. maybe some showers into parts of montgomery, northern prince george's, anne arundel, howard and baltimore and back around the shenandoah vale, but notice most of the area in the d.c. metro area, northern virginia and down through southern maryland is staying mainly dry. 9:0 p.m., the chance for some rain into parts of northern virginia. elsewhere across the area. noticing plenty of clouds, butbo that's it. maybe some showers out there at midnight and after that they will sizzle out.

the national mall ng i'm go to take you through a normal night. you're heading down to the national mall and seeing the fireworks for the fourth of july they are going off. they look beautiful. no issues and that's because of the temperatures in the atmosphere. the warmest air was at the surface and the air gets cooler as you head up in the atmosphere allowing the air to escape, to move up a ward and to move out. that was not the case lastni t. last night we had what we call a temperature inversion. we had cooler air at the surface and warmer air just above it. that warmer layer of the air acted as a bocking mechanism keeping all of the smoke down there on the ground. people in virginia for the most blrt saying i could see those fireworks, no pro, d.c. not the case and here's why. we had it very light. a very light westerly wind so that westerly wind kept kind of pushing the smoke into the d.c. area whereas virginia had some clearing. also some articles online saying with all the smoke strapped

here to look at the impact that might ve ons here. >> you may have seen the pictures of the sinkhole that swallowed a car in woodbridge. take a look at that. >> and a sinkhole getting bigger. authorities are blaming the weather for that. >> aimee cho is live at the scene with the latest. aimee. we understand it's going to be a while before they fix that. >> reporter: the sinkhole that opened up is going to be almost -- is 20 fe deep, and it's almost four times my size to give you a sense of how massive this thing is. i wantto give you a closer look over that way and a sinkhole did swallow up a car last night. we were here earlier as crews pulled the car from the wreckage. we want to show you some video from that awell. we got the car out and thankfully no one was in the car wn it fell into the hole and crews tell me they think the cause of the sinkhole was the heavy rain last night. water rushed into a pipe underground, and the pressure was so great it washed the pipe away and that caused the ground

on top to collapse. now crews say itke will li take up to two weeks to fill in the hole and open the road back up. neighbors here telle they feel terrible for the owner of the car but they are glad no one got hurt. >> it lets you know that when mother nature is happening we need to pay verylose attention to it. >> when it started raining like that, i pl off to the side of the road so anybody could pull over right here. >> reporter: and crews also tell me there's a creek back that way that's been soaking up a lot of rain recently, and they think that's part of the reason that this road has been washed away as badly as it has. neighbors say they are worried that something like this could happen again. amy woodbridge. aimee cho, news 4. >> we're talking about a couple of weeks before they can get it fixed. >> and that's where there was a flash flood warning issued last night. two to three inches of rain fell in that area so i'm not
