the counters and everything. so we ran behind like into the kitchen. >> it was like a day where you're in panic and you can't believe this is ppening. i'm glad it was nothing. >> the fire officials tell us three people were treated for medical conditions triggered that scare. operations are now back to normal at union >>ation. > an elderly woman was killed over theeneekend wh a fire started inside her alexandria apartment. the fire began at around 5:30su ay morning at the south court garden apartment mplex. a neighbor smelled the smoke and called 911. the emergency dispatcher told him to pull the fire before evacuating. firefighters arrived in minutes and helped get other people out. >> they also had to use ladders to get a couple of folks off of their terrace c aple of levels above the original unit. no other injuries wrte repo and no firefighters were injured

at the time. >> no other apartments were damaged. investigators have not released the name of the woman who died. they say the cause was improperlyed discard cigarettes. this moing, several families are mourning the loss of their loved ones killed in crash across our region. at least nine people died over the fourth of july weekend. there were five death in spotssylvania county. one in frederick, maryland, and one i atlanta. the crash was caused by a wrong way driver on the beltway.
