southern louisiana and the gulf coast. if you had weekend travel plans from houston to pensacola you may want toreconsider making those travel plans to the gulf coast this weekend, especially mobile, e going to mississippi gulf coast, or new orleans. they are going to take it on the chin from this storm. hurricane or not, rainfaam nts here in central louisiana and the new orleans area could exceed 15 to 20 inches of rain between now and about the end of the day on sunday. this is a huge inundation problem along the coastline. the mississippi river is already near flood stage. it's expected to potentially be as high ast has been the last 70 years. the storm is probably a minimal category 1 hurricane and minimal in the sense from the wind. the category only measures wind speed. this is going to be a big problem for them. the moisturerom whatever is left of barry will eventually i think come in our general direction and probably not worry about that here until wednesday,
