xenophobia [ laughter ] well, at the rally, that was the calendar of eventsla hter and applause the dnc -- the dnc has announced that the lineup for the upcoming second democratic debate will mirror the first debate with montana governor steve bullock replacing congressman eric swalwell who has dropped out of the race. so, basically they replaced eric swalwell with the faceapp version of eric swalwell [ laughter and applause the house of representatives voted today on a bill that woule raise the ral minimum wage to $15 an hour said trump, "that's too high i mean, who works for a whole hour [ laughter and applause if i mean, maybe ou broke it up over the course of the day." talk about an upcoming special election in north carolina's ninth congressional district and his brain melted down justge trying to those words out of his mouth. [ hissing sound [ laughter andpplause this is when trump is in his element. he gives his base the performance they want. and that's what he did again last night when whipped them into a racist frenzy by slandering minnesota congresswoman ilhan omar, a citizen.efugee and naturalized trump has been attacking her all week with racist lies, and the crowd responded with a truly horrific chant while trump just stood by oo >> she l down with contempt on the hard working american,

saying that ignorance is pervasivin many parts of this country. trump spent the rally and the preceding three days spreading racist lies and telling omar and three other congresswomen to go back to their countries, he inactually tried to claim he oval office today that he didn't like the chant and tried to stop it, which is again, an obvious lie. >> when your supporters last night were chanting "send her back," why didn't you stop them? whtodidn't you ask them to s saying that? >> well, number one, i think i did. i started speaking very quickly. it really was a loud - i disagree with it, by the way but it was quite a chant and i felt a little bit badly about it but i will say this. i did -- i started speaking very quickly. n >> seth: no, no, you didn't. when they started chanting, you just let them go you said nothing >> send her back send her back. send her back. send her back. send her back. send her back. send her back. send her back. >> seth: that's not how you stoh a t. [ light laughter ] in fact, he lied to his audience again last night about his administration's repeated attempts to rip healthcare away from millions and told a bizarre story about a run-in with a fellow rich guy who loves what trump his doing, even though he dislikesrump, personally >> a man i know, who i don't

like, a businessman, very, very, very successful, one of the most successful men i don't like him, never liked him. he never liked me either, by the way. in fact, i would go a step fuher, he cannot stand me. and i saw him about two months ago. and he came up to me, i said, "how you doing?" very warm, you know. "hey, how you doing? let's get ouof here. and he said, "i'm doing good you doing good?" i said, "yeah.ou i said, "ynow, you don't like me and i don't like you, i never have liked you and youha never liked me. but you're gonna support me because you're a rich guy. and if you don't support me, you're gonna be so god damn poor, you're not gonna believe it." >> seth: there are a million reasons that story is viously a lie he made up [ laughter ] one of which is, you're the president of the united states where are yojust running into people [ laughter ] "i saw him, i was like, 'hey,' and he was like, 'hey,' and i'm like 'are you getting jamba juice? and he's like, 'yeah, what about you?

[ laughter ] but that's who donald trump works for, the corporations and the wealthy and he thinks he can lie about it to voters while keeping his base in line racist incitement for example, after the house voted on a resolution to condemn trump's racist attacks this week and republicans almost entirely sided with trump, trtweeted this >> "so great to see how unified the republican party was on today's vote concerning e statements i madout four democrat congresswomen if you really want to see statements, look athe horrible things they said about our country, israel, and much more they are now the top most visible members of the house democrats who are now wedded to this bitterness and hate th4.republican vote was 187- wow. >> seth: i like when trump tries to use a flowery phrase like "wedded to this bitterness and hate" and then immediatelyth follows it up wiomething dumb, like, "wow." ings and so i think, my colleagues on the republican side of the aisle would do well in callingp their president and saying, "cut it out you're going to get someone hurt." we feel like we're going to de continue tunce the outrageous behavior when it occurs but we need partners on the other side of the aisle. and we need people to start saying, you know what? there are certain things where, this is not a democric issue or a republican issue. it's an american issue and let's put -- let's put america, let'sr put counahead of party [ cheers and applause >> seth: obviously, one of the stories this week was donald trump sort of calling out the squad, these four progressive members of congresse earlier in the w it seemed like there was some conflict within the democratic party. progressives may be feeling a little bit overlooked by leadership or maybe leadership

working to undercut the enthusiasm from maybe progressive ideas. i know you guys put out a st ement today, different fractions -- different factions, i should say, of the democratic party. is there internal conflict in the party right now? >> well, we represent the gorgeous mosaic of the american people and so from time to time there are going to be differences of opinion because we are incredibly diverseis ths the most diverse congress in the history of the country. more women serving in congress than ever before [ cheers and applause more african-americans, more latinos. [ cheers and applause more asian-americans, more native american women and re members of the lgbtq communityre than ever befo the diversity is only on the democratic side. >> seth: yeah. >> as a result of that - >> seth: i think they have more "dans" than ever before. >> that's absolutely right [ laughter ] but despite our different lifepe ences and the differences of perspective, we're united behind a common purpose. we have a "for the people" agenda we want to lower healthcare costs. we want to protecthe more than 130 million people who have pre-existing conditions, and the trump administration wants to take awathat healthcare protection that's reckless, we're going to stop it. we want to drive down the high cost of lifesaving prescription drugs. we want a real infrastructure plan that we believe can create up to 16 million good paying jobs these are the things that unite democrats and will continue to unite us moving forward against the aggressive conservativism that's coming out of 1600 pennsylvania avenue >> seth: there was a vote on impeachment yesterday.it id not pass. is there not enough at this point to move forward with an impeachment investigation of the president? where does the demratic party stand?

>> that was a procedural vote, and i think the view of many of us was that the next important step, consistent with the constitution, is that the judiciary committee has toort this thing out and bob mueller is going to testify before the judiciary committee next week. and it's going to be very important for him to illuminate the principle conclusions of his investigation. one, that russia attacked our democracy for the purpose of trying to place donald trump at 1600 pennsylvania avenue two, therump campaign, at the highest levels, welcomed russian interference and assistance.an three, it appears that the president may have engaged in multiple acts of obstruction of justic undermining the rule of law. those are the principle conclusions in the mueller report we now need bob mueller to explain those conclusions to the american people and then we can

kind of decide how to proceed with accountability thereafter >> seth: is the idea that the bob mueller hearing will present the information in a way that people might actually consume it i mean, he did lay out a 450 page thing -- i don't feelin like he's goto say anything more is this a case where a guy wrote a book and you're like, "can you just tell me the good parts?
