of the illness since may 1st, and three workplace cafeterias are part of that investigation, including two of them in mclean. one in the capital one building and the other in the valo park buildinpe ple most often get infected by ingesting contaminated food or water. right now there's not a known source for e outbreak. wendy? >> thanks, erika. >> we're signature on top of the latest developments of the arrest of 16 active doubty ton, rs at camp pn california. they are accused of smuggling people over the border from mexico. today's arrests ste om an investigation that began earlier this month when two camp pend tele-based marines were arrested after border patrol agents caught undocumented immigrants jumping in their car near the border. the undocumented immigrants told investigators they had paid the marines $8,000 to take them to los angeles.

after this and hopefully maket extremely hard for individuals to get guns and that's our commitment. >> just five months ago bowser and newsham stood with the u.s. attorney for the district to announce a plan to prosecute felon and possession cases in cour so far ththere's been nearly 100 arrests for felony possession of a gun. only 65 of those have actually been prosecuted in federal court. last week chief anysham complained publicly that the consequences for being arrested with a gun weren't enough to stop the violence. we asked of the more than 600 total gun arrests this year how many had been prosecuted. >> i don't have those numbers for you. >> reporter: 2016, then police chief cat i lanier blasted the district's criminal justice system calling it beyond broken and mayor bowser agreed complaining that feder prosecutors were unaccountable. >> prosecutors don't report to thepeople. they don't report to me either. judges and others don't. >> reporte today bowser

this is what the jet stream is being looing like over europe. think of the greek letter omega, and that's how the jet stream looks right now. when you get an omega block, it's really hard to move in the atmosphere, so what's happening is hot air is able to come up from north africa and europe and this air mass is just sitting here. now it's going to start to dislodge overnight tonight and then tomorrow, but hhen iteads towards the arctic over the weekend. now, this is the second intense heat wave that europe haslt d with this year. we're talking about triple-digit heat. check out the record all-time highsy. to paris france as we said 109. belgium, the netherlands and germany set all-time highs the uk, so 1 degrees. london has an average high of 7 so we're running 25 deees above normal today. climate change plays a role in this in the sense that, yes, we've always seen heat wavehand really intense heat at times but the extremes are becoming more extreme.wa

nicholas keys in june of 2018. state prosecut trs say theo men got into an argument in the parking lot of the dollar tree ir bowie town center after hughes'riend dinged keys' car with her car door. poli say keys grabbed a bat and hughes threw that bat across the, aing lot according to testimony and began punching keys. >> the injuries that he received from the blows were exacerbated when his head hit the pavement and it killed him. >> reporter: his parents remov him from life support three after the fight. the victim's mother says she's h not satisfied he sentencing in this case. >> i don't think there's a sentence long enough when you lose a loved with you. i feel like he should have got ebb more. >> reporter: hughes is a father of three with a fourth child on the way. he was onti proba for his part in an armed robbery that led to a gunman killing someone when this fight happened in bowie. >> he's been in and out ofl. jai they locked him up and released him and locked him up and released him. he's living his life.
