virginia. >> danner: one of the virginia tech students charged in the murder of a 13-year-old girl was denied bond today. 19-year-old natalie keepers is charged as an accessory in the murder of nicole lovell. statements made in court revealed how the murder may have been planned. >> reporter: prosecutor mary pettit give us details. lovell's mother, tammy and her father david came in surrounded by family members. natalie keepers' family also took the stand during their daughter's bond hearing. there was a statement read

regarding how she and david eisenhauer plotted to cut nicole lovell's neck. according to a statement in court, it was keepers who told police were lovell's body was in north carolina. she also told police that lovell's body was in the backseat when she and eisenhauer bought cleaning supplies at walmart. the judge said that keepers had no tie to the community and denied bond. eisenhauer and keepers are due back in court by march 28th. the full autopsy should be back by then. >> danner: this all happened the same day that nicole lovell's family laid the young laid to rest. katie brooke has the latest. >> katie: hundreds of cars

medical center is reporting a local doctor is recovering from surgery in a winston salem hospital when he was not on monday night. dr. neal was shot in the west maine area. the hospital wants to help with bigger problem. they don't want the community to live in fear of walking in that neighborhood. so they're hosting a walking tomorrow night. >> because we do care about the health of the community, it's often more productive to walk and talk. the opportunity is to use this as a chance to share with others you may have concerns, and come up with ideas. >> danner: that walk starts at 6:00 front of the hospital.

a woman that handled the funds at an elementary school embezzled $31,000 dollars. the principal says that she relied heavily on musick to take on her role as p.t.a. president. >> she was phenomenonal and she was helpful and willing. and i felt like her child is not even there, and i was asking her throughout the summer to get prepared for what i needed to do. and i realize now it's all just one big, huge lie. >> danner: the p.t.a. uses the money for field trips, field students. and we are also hearing from the lynchburg city schools who released a statement which says in part.

malconduct serves a reminder that all community organizations need to engage in practices so that funds are used appropriately. >> the appomattox sheriff's office is looking for leads tonight regarding a drive by shooting. a small gray, 4-door vehicle drove by and shot four shots at a house. they can't say whether there is a random incident or not. call the appomattox sheriff's office or crime stoppers with any information. >> a bill to ensure that all virginia officials disclose where they receive drugs used today. senator scott sorvel introduced the bill today. sorvel called the use of

to be highly inappropriate. lawmakers found the bill unnecessary. and the virginia department of elections voted earlier today to rescind the statement that would have required all g.o.p. primarily voters to declare themselves republicans before casting a ballot. a lot of controversy over this. they planned to implement this change on the january 1st primary. the state has the legal authority to change the rule after voting has begun. the agency spent more than $62,000 to print and mail the required paperwork. a bill that would require public school students to get at least 20 minutes of physical activity is advancing. it received preliminary approval. the senate has already

>> danner: that's bernie sanders at c.n.n.'s town hall last night. and we are now learning a bipartisan group of capitol hill lawmakers were briefed this week by top military commanders on how to confront rogue military groups like isis. they submitted a report they say has the blueprints for ridding the world of these extremist groups. >> reporter: while isis continues to spew hatred worldwide, one says to stop isis and other extremist groups from seizing more territory, our world's coalition leaders must make tougher decisions.
