decide the appropriate age. 3 mona the house has approved a bill that would allow students in underperforming schools to swtich to a different one in the same district. it would require the state to identify 12 underperforming public schools. then students would be given the choice to transfer to another school in the district. the bill is now headed to the senate. 3 pattie tight campbell county school employees are hoping for a raise this year. the county is still waiting on a state budget to be determined, but on monday school superintendent robert johnson requested a two percent raise for all school employees during the school board meeting. the raise would cost around 1.1 million dollars. this is a preliminary proposal -- and johnson says it's needed so employees can keep up with the rise in the cost of living. 3 mona tight budget issues surrounding a new bedford county middle school are threatening to keep the school from opening in time for the 2018 school year. the bedford county board of supervisors reached a five to two consensus to authorize 44- million-dollars to construct the new school and a

got a dogwood tree in 3 hi, i'm gary garner with this week's garden tips. we get many questions about transplanting shrubbery--i've got a dogwood tree in my yard that's been there a few years; i want to move it......or, i've got some gold mop cypress that i don't like, and i want to move them to the back of my yard....when's the best time to move them? with deciduous stuff--this is a lilac, but any type of deciduous plant, like a dogwood tree, or a flowering cherry, or the lilacs or anything, the time frame for moving them is very slim. it needs to be done in the early spring, or late winter....with february and maybe the first or second week of march being about the limits of the time frame. once the sap starts to rise and the deciduous plants start to leaf out, your chances of taking one up and moving it get slimmer and slimmer, and through the summer it is next to impossible. evergreens can be moved almost any time, but while they are dormant in the winter is certainly the ideal

3 this morning a big development in the trial for the mother of a 5 year old boy found dead in a septic tank in pulaski county. after a two day struggle to seat a jury in ashley white's felony child abuse and negelect trial - judge bradley finch yesterday granted the defense counsel's request for a change of venue. citing virginia case law - finch noted the -

3 mona security was mona3 security was extra tight at danville community college after an armed robbery near campus. danville police say someone robbed a dcc student around noon yesterday..on kemper road. he is described as a white male, lightly bearded, who was wearing blue jeans, a white hoodie, brown boots, and gloves at the time. no one was injured. 3 pattie tight this morning, a 28 year old man is facing drug charges after salem police say a call to an abandoned building ended in a meth bust. police say on saturday, someone who lives on reece road reported a man going into the building. when officers got there, they say joseph gabris took off. they found him a short time later and said he had some liquid in a bottle.
