7-year-old milan had two surgeries. they discovered a golf-sized tumor on his brain in january. and his mother said they are grateful that they discovered it in time. >> reporter: a normal afternoon quickly became horrifying. her son fell asleep in the car and wouldn't wake up. >> he was very is oriented. very spaced out. >> reporter: once she got him up into the house he fell and she knew that something was really wrong. >> we left immediately and went to the er. >> reporter: 12 days in the hospital and a tumor on his brain. two surgeries later they drained a lot of fluid. >> the whole time they told me what could happen. >> reporter: the next step for the 7-year-old, a month of radiation and four months of chemotherapy. malaka graduated from cosmetology school.

>> danner: you. this just into the newsroom. the justice department has filed a civil rights lawsuit against the city of ferguson over its refusal to accept a reform agreement to improve the police department and court operations. just yesterday, city council there voted to revise the agreement. ferguson has been under scrutiny since 18-year-old michael brown was fatally shot by officer darren wilson 18 months ago. the grand jury and the justice department declined to prosecute wilson. the royal caribbean cruise ship damaged in a large storm is due back in court tonight in new jersey. murk-force winds sunday over 100 miles per hour and 30-foot waves forced the ship to turn back. the ship's captain explaining in a video broadcast internally to all 4500 state rooms that he
