reminding everyone of the law here tonight. the old dan river plant was built in the late 40s and has been closed for the last ten years. but many in the community hope that while it was still standing, a new police will come in to thrive. i spoke with pat morefield today. works at the plant for 32 years. it was like one big family and feeling devastated that the building that holds so many memorymemories go. >> all of us knew each other. that is just the way it was. we knew each other and spoke and you had your good days and bad days and you just went on with it. but it is. it is awfu tloshtion see it go. just awful. >> reporter: crews are still working to determine what started the blaze. they tell me that the scene here is contained right now. there is still some smoke. you can see a few flames ever so often in the piles of rubble but mostly smoke. fire fighters are still monitoring it and tonight at 6:00, hear more from what pat

live in brookneal, katie brookelive in brookneal, katie brooke, abc 13 news. >> danner: a lot of folks thinking of those people in brookneal. >> the. pleaded guilty to one count of felony robbery and faces other charges in another robbery. in this case, ramos and two others after three muddy foot prints led them behind a home where they found the three men. they face charges and in that incident last july. two 15-year-old girls were shot dead outside of glendale arizona. each had one gunshot wound and a weapon was found near the bodies. both are 10th graders and investigators are not searching for a shooter. they do not know what relationthey do not know what relationship if any those girls had. shootings can happen anywhere, where we work, where we go to church and school.

in lynchburg. 30 the current air temperature in roanoke. once you factor in the winds, what it feels like to the exposed skin, not too far off from the numbers just enough to make it feel a little bit worse than it actually is. feels like 9 to the exposedfeels like 9 to the exposeed skin in hot springs and 29 in lynchburg and 30 in danville. if you were going out tonight, not a bad idea to bundle up appropriately. a little bit of clouds and a little bit of flurries that are dotting the landscape. will continue for the next couple of hours. the low-pressure center that brought snow to the coast and mixing of precipitation now for coastal sections of north carolina is continuing to pull away. that is good news for those areas. we still have winter storm warnings for the coastal sections of north carolina. that will not bother us at all. the wind chill advisory along and west of lynchburg for dangerously low wind chills. in fact how low? tomorrow morning and by the time tomorrow morning gets up, 4 degrees is what it feels like to the exposed skin in lynchburg.

notice how it doesn't get any better throughout the day. it will, however, feel better for sunday but not by much. this area low pressure continues to slide up the coast. we saw some sunshine and some flurries today and we will see sunshine back on the way for tomorrow. and as we head through the day sunday, we will see a little bit more cloud cover start to come back into the area and this is ahead of our next weather maker which is the area low pressure down to the coast. now one thing that this will do is we will talk about very cold temperatures over the next couple of days. 27 our forecast high in lynchburg. only going up to 25 on sunday. similar story in the south side and the roanoke valley. note that the average is time of year is 48 degrees and 25 and 23 over the next couple of days and that is about 20 degrees and some change below where we should be this time of year. looking for a few fwlurs this evening and clearing skies of the overnight hours. a little more cloud cover coming on the way for saturday and not by much. we will call it mostly sunny skies.
