3 to be breezy. 3 3 pattie tight we have learned that there will be a press conference in appomattox county at 7 this morning about yesterday's storm. we will be carrying that press conference live. appomattox county sheriff, barry letterman, has confirmed to abc 13 that one man has died due to the storm. we're told he was in his 70s. state police tell us his home was destroyed by the reported tornado that swept through evergreen and red house. his remains have been taken to the medical examiner's office for identification. police say the total injured in appomattox county is 7. 3 pattie box gleaning for the world is also doing its part to help those dealing with the damage in appomattox. we were there as crews stopped at the walmart to gather supplies. walmart gave them water, flashlights, snacks, and ice to hand out to those impacted. gleaning took along blankets, pillows, and heat and eat meals..

conviction on all the defendants on all the different counts."(rusty mcguire, louisa co. commonwealth's attorney) "we are a very small, rural county that this gang terrorized for 5 months."along with charges related to the kidnapping and murder of quick, 4 of the 6 defendants are also guilty of racketeering, various violent crimes in aide of racketeering and using a gun during those crimes.(jimmy turk, attorney for shantai shelton) ""were verdict?""no, you sat through the court case didn't you. i mean, all you guys did. there was some extremely powerful evidence. no, i'm not surprised. i don't think any of our clients were surprised. i know mine wasn't."the jury found the other two guilty of obstruction of justice and racketeering.sentencing hasn't been scheduled yet, but is expected to be sometime this summer.in roanoke annie andersen abc 13 news.

pittsylvania county grand jury has indicted a former county jail employee on three counts of carnal knowledge. sharon mckenzie was indicted on three felonies. investigators say that while she was a kitchen staff employee, she sexual acts with an inmate. abc 13 looked at the indictment which states the inmate was james poe, who was serving 50 years for a dui crash that killed two gretna teenagers in august of 2014. mckenzie is out on bond right now until her next scheduled court date in march. we've learned poe has been moved to a jail in richmond. 3 pattie tight the botetourt county sheriff's office has charged a roanoke county man with forcible sodomy. they charged 46-year-old david bocock of roanoke with the help of the u.s marshal's service. city officials confirm bocock is a lieutenant with roanoke fire and ems. he's now suspended without pay after 25 years with the department. the sheriff's office said the victim was a minor. bocock is currently being held in the botetourt county jail with no bond set at this time. 3 pattie plasma still to

3 pattie plasma3 when the severe weather hit.. the school day was winding down in appomattox. the storm dangers forced school leaders to keep students at school. many say they lost power and were forced to go to the basement to take cover. children who weren't picked up by family members early were then sent to a central location for safety. courtney wheaton was there. 3 buses served as the last line of defense to make sure no child was left behind at school. " i certainly dont want to see anyone harmed in anyway shape or form." bus driver tom conrad bus drivers like tom conrad became heroes to families unable to reach their children. " the community works together it;s something that people realize they have no choice but to come together and people react positively." take a look at this video more than 200 students of all ages were sent to appomattox primary school because it was the only school with power. law enforcement worked with staff and parents to make sure the kids who didn't take a bus were picked up by loved ones. storm. tola?3 3 pattie a federal court jury has found the defendants in the kevin quick trial guilty on all charges. quick was the waynesboro reserve police officer kidnapped killed in 20-14. quick's family, including his young daughter were in court as the clerk read that the defendants were guilty on each count. along with charges related to quick's kidnapping and murder, were more than two dozen others.... namely racketeering, violent crimes in aide of racketeering and various gun charges for those crimes. 3 pattie an elliston man is facing several felony charges after the montgomery county sheriff's office says he led deputies on a chase and crashed into multiple deputies' cars. they say 31-year-old joseph meade was going more than 100 miles an hour on route 460 around 8 tuesday night. when deputies tried to stop him, the sheriff's office says meade led them on a chase,
