weekend forecast looks 3 picture perfect for 3 any outdoor plans. 3 pattie appomattox wasn't the only place hit hard by the severe weather. in waverly, three people were killed, including a two year old. three people were killed there -- including a two year old. one man -- desmond gardner -- was in his car when it all came through. desmond gardner/witness: not actually the tornado but from all the power lines falling there was like a big ball of fire and all of the debris kicking up coming directly

all i could do is pray and pray and pray and the wind actually picked the car up and dropped us down and all i could do is hold on tight and tell my uncle i gardner/witness: it is tragic man i never seen nothing like this before i lost a good friend in the storm and my prayers go out to their family. 3 3 pattie and today many are hoping 3 that power will be back on in fluvanna county. the national weather service also confirmed an e-f-zero tornado touched down there. the storm downed trees and damaged several homes. thankfully, everyone is safe. a drone company was able to help come in and survey the land and follow the storm's path. it's believed this tornado traveled for tens of miles.. along route 15. 3 pattie tight state police say the tornado that hit our area destroyed 20 homes. and at least 100 structures had damage in the 13-mile stretch along route 4-60

courtney wheaton spoke with one family whose home was leveled. 3 jared and sharanda totty stand where their house once stood counting their blessings, and losses. sharanda says she was at home alone with her one year old daughter when 3 she got news a tornado was approaching. "at first i didn't believe it" but then.. "im holding her in my lap and i see a tree go by and i said oh my goodness its here."her husband told her to put a plan in place and she headed to the basement , her instincts kicked in from there.. " god took over me and literally threw me under this mattress over here and i held my baby and said god no please help us."the most unlikely

for monday. 3 3 pattie plasma a woman who pleaded guilty to killing a man and concealing his body in concrete will spend 10 years behind bars. janice widenor pled guilty yesterday to several charges. last january, montgomery county deputies were called to a house in elliston. they say.. widenor had been renting the property.. and it was being cleaned after she got evicted. a cleaning crew discovered the body of 70-year- old james austin.. entombed in concrete on an enclosed porch. widenor told police austin asked her to take his pain away. she told investigators she put a pillow across his face. 3 3 pattie box a christiansburg woman who murdered her father in law will spend the rest of her life in prison. on wednesday, a judge told 24- year old amanda taylor she was "evil personified" and had shown "little or no remorse" for her actions. last april, investigators found charles taylor murdered in his

see the weekend forecast looks any outdoor plans. 3 pattie3 with this tornado, we have seen so much loss... homes, vehicles, churches.. but we also know that one person died in the storm. state police confirm they found 78-year-old edward harris in a field near his home. his friends at evergreen baptist church say.. he lived in appomattox his whole life. he was a farmer.. and had a lot of connections in the community. the appomattox sheriff says.. harris lived in a mobile home off twin tunnels lane. rescue workers found him in a hayfield.. covered in hay. 3 pattie plasma as you have seen over the past couple days.... many homes are gone in appomattox. at one place we visited, just about only cinder blocks from

3 3 3 pattie plasma right now.. there are 2 shelters open in appomattox. one at the pamplin fire department. the other at the appomattox community centernats we got some crackers and some granola bars..thank you so very much, hopefully someone can make use of it.pattie shelter officials tell us.. several people have come through in the past two days. at last check, there were a just a couple people staying overnight. many people have been dropping by to give.. and pick up donations.. the shelter staff says.. they're very thankful.brad burdett/director of social services appomattoxthe donations have been like this all day long and the community has just been exceptional.
