when news came ........... authorities saying.. the new officer?out on her first street patrol saturday?respon ding to a 911 call reporting domestic abuse.sot "i just want to be clear, do we have officers involved in the shooting?" "we have 3 officers that have been shot." su bridge:3 it was here in this quiet, upscale neighborhood, rookie cop ashley guindon and two other officers approached that front door?police say almost immediately they were confronted by the suspect who opened fire. and they all went down> sot zach harris: "i saw the officer lying on the ground, shot in the leg." neighbor zach harris.. saying he heard 3 gunshots.. police.. identifying the suspect as army staff sergeant ronald hamilton?assigned to the pentagon.investigators saying.. hamilton's wife.. was found dead inside the home? his 11 year old son.. also home but not hurt.the two other officers are expected to

3 pattie plasma ronald hamilton is expected to face two murder charges in court today. the county prosecutor reports that he will likely seek the death penalty. stick with abc 13 for updates on this case. 3 pattie in dayton, ohio the suspect in the deadly shooting of a pastor there is also expected in court today. officials say reverend william schooler was gunned down in his own church yesterday. police say the suspect is his younger brother, daniel schooler, who was arrested at the scene. he's facing murder charges. local sources in dayton report that the younger schooler has a history of violence. an autopsy on the 70-year-old pastor is also scheduled for 3 today. 3 3 a few light showers are possible out west early this morning as a cold front approaches the commonwealth.

church congregation came together to remember life long member keith harris. despite the damage to the building the church opened its doors for the first time yetserday to grieve and heal. courtney wheaton reports. 3 their community and their church are damaged-- but their faith is far from broken. " jesus has never left our building and jesus will never leave evergreen." :6 members of evergreen methodist chuch gathered in prayer on sunday morning for the first time since the storm. 3 pattie here's a look at some of the numbers from the cleanup. officials say on saturday alone, the group mercy chef along with tyson foods served up 820 meals. 189 volunteers visited 186 homes. and workers put tarps on19 roofs.pattie tight we also have an update on debris collection. the county began pick-up yesterday and will continue throughout the week. and vdot will be picking up yard brush and tree limbs. also, the appomattox county landfill is extending its hours throughout the week with volunteers on site, ready to help with disposal. 3 pattie plasma as the dust settles in appomattox county.. more and more storm victims are being reunited with their lost belongings. those gusty winds sent some items more than 15 miles away from their homes. now, one woman is sharing her journey to get a childhood drawing back in the hands of its rightful owner. courtney

3 teri hadden and kayla burchett have never met, but they're now bonded by a common thread. teri hadden found picture" my brother found this next to our family cemetery it was all crumpled up. it was a painting kayla burchett made when she was just 4 years old. teri hadden found picture" she told me that her mom had this framed in a black frame on her mantle." that is, until the tornado destroyed her mother's home and blew the picture away - to buckingham county, 15 miles from where the storm hitkayla burchett items returned" pciture are coming out of nowhere little momentos just like this. on thursday terri hadden, posted the artwork on facebook and a thousand or so shares later she eventually found kayla. she re-framed the picture and gave it back to its rightful owner. teri hadden found picture" i'm gald we can do this because she says this is actually all they have left." court stand "now it hasn't been a happy ending for everyone, thouands of people are still looking for those lost items. the community has set up a lost and found just behind me where they're hoping to reunite people with their prized possessions." 3 3 pattie plasma this morning the man charged in a murder in madison heights is scheduled to go on trial. amherst county prosecutors say edward marshall killed norma jean freeman inside her home last january.. and severely injured her son, allen. earlier this month, a judge denied a complaint marshall filed under the civil rights act. in the complaint, he cited a

highs only in the lower 50s. 3 3 pattie plasma this morning we have a sad update on a forest teenager seriously injured in a crash four months ago. ivy adkins family tells us, she has died. her mother posted on facebook that ivy - who had been in the hospital all this time - contracted a bacterial infection and was taken off life support a week ago. the teenager passed away saturday night. in october, ivy and her cousin suffered life-threatening injuries after the car they were riding in crashed on lake vista drive in forest. the driver of that car, 18-year- old christian riddle, was charged with grand larceny and driving while intoxicated. 3 pattie tight state police spent part of the weekend responding to two different crashes in rockbridge county - one of them fatal. police tell us a single vehicle

backed up for quite a while. investigators say around 12:30 saturday afternoon, a car ran off the left side of the road, went into the median and hit some trees. both the driver and passenger were trapped in the vehicle.. and later flown to the hospital. pattie tight the trooper responding to that crash also worked a fatal accident on route 60 early saturday morning. police have not released the name of the victim.. and we're waiting on more information to be released. we'll bring you updates as soon as we get them. 3 pattie plasma new this morning... we've learned that five ku klux klan members who were arrested following a brawl at a demonstration in california, have been released from custody. it started saturday when a fight broke out between k-k-k demonstrators and counterprotesters in anaheim. authorities say two kkk members were stomped on the ground... three people were stabbed--and about 13 people arrested. steve () kuzj reports. 3 (nats)racist ideals...and opposition came to a head in anaheim, saturday afternoon.a ku klux klan rally erupted in
