evan maxwell and john dawson with 20 each. and a good odac matchup...the wasps with the win by 16 to go to 11-9 on the year. national signing day...looms large for college programs all across the nation-- today...alyssa rae has the second..in our two part series on the hokies--upcoming recruiting class.. i'm alyssa rae here in blacksburg with jason stamm of hokiehaven.com and rivals.com, with signing day on wednesday we're talking about virginia tech's new recruiting class we talked about the offense now let's talk about the defense. i'm hearing about a four-star defensive back coming in what's his deal. yeah khalil ladler is a guy originally from stephenson high school in atlanta, spent this last season at img academy in florida, he tore his acl this summer in a 7 on 7 national championship. this is a guy who was a top 100 kid before he got hurt so he's kind of fallen off a little bit because of his injury but if he gets back to
11:22 pm
he's a big time talent. a couple linebackers who have committed, one out of chesapeake, you have them at 3- stars. why is that? tevante becket and emmanuel belmar both are 3 stars. you watch tevante becket, he has probably some of he best film you're going to see. wherever the ball is, this guy finds a way to get to it but a little short, he's one of those guys we would classify as a tweener. emmanuel belmar is a little taller so i think he can roam, a little rangier guy who can get sideline to sideline so both of those guys are going to be big editions the next couple years. this weekend a lot of these players were in blacksburg, any defensive players that we think are on the fence and will flip and sign tomorrow. i think tomon fox, the 4-star defensive end, is teammates with belmar down in collins hill outside of atlanta, probably the biggest name guy with a possibility. jaquan bailey, a 3-star defensive end from raines, he's already decommitted so he would be so much of a flip but we are talking about a guy who can fill that role of dadi nicholas and that vacancy he has so it'll be interesting to see
11:23 pm
fence right now that are already committed somewhere so they've got somewhere if they don't choose virginia tech, but i think virginia tech can get some big time steals. there you have it, jason stamm of hokiehaven.com and rivals.com and i'm alyssa rae in blacksburg for wsls 10 sports. to nascar now.. and cup star---tony stewart...has more self inflicted health issues. stewart's been hospitalized after being involved in an accident in an all-terrian vehicle-- he reportedly flipped an atv on the west coast..and was airlifted to a nearby hospital with a back injury. stewart plans to retire from sprint cup racing after this season.. and his final season...will begin with the 44 year old..recovering--- again.. highly touted ol lineman austin clark of rockbridge co has left the hokies football team..but will remain at the university.. former hokies placekicker cody journell will be playing pro football in germany... and cave
