officers are working to clear the accident and traffic is being re-rerouted. expect delays if you are travelling in this area. # after more than 24 hours of snow, rain, and sleet, finally enjoying some sunshine.... far from over. wsls 10's rob manch has been following this storm from the beginning. he has the latest for us this afternoon from downtown covington. # passed us and the precipitation has finally stopped here in covington, meaning primary roads, like interstate 64 here behind me, are drivable and clear at this point, but as one woman found out, those secondary roads can still be covered in ice and dangerous." vo on route 18 south of covington, one woman lost control of her suv early this morning, careening into potts creek. the road was covered with a thin layer of ice that hadn't melted. three different rescue crews responded to the scene and pulled her out unharmed sot lee roe, west rock rescue captain: 15:37:54 "they called

down to try to extricate her out of the vehicle. secured the vehicle, waited on the wrecker. we stayed on the scene with our swift water guys in case the wrecker guy had an accident." cont vo captain lee roe said this was one of 2 other weather- related accidents that crews had responded to this morning. tag 15:42:23 "vdot is now shifting its focus from those primary roads to the secondary roads here in covington and allegheny county, and they hope to have all of those cleared by tomorrow morning's commute. in covington, rob manch, wsls 10." there are trees down in neighborhoods... and many are blocking roads. wsls ten's erin brookshier talked to a family in northeast tree in their house. # erin after more than 24-hours of snow removal, roads crews woke up this morning to a new issue, flooding. route two- twenty just south of tanglewood mall was covered in nearly two-feet of water early this morning. throughout the morning, drivers faced dozens of

power lines, like this one on williamson road. iris kaltenbaugh started her s- u-v to get it warmed up.. and while she was inside getting ready-- there was a crash. sot come outside and it was pouring down rain the car was running still and the windows were smashed out. we didn't really know what to do. we panicked across the city.. other people are dealing with similar issues.. as the heavy ice tears down trees. several trees along pike lane were uprooted, including this one that crashed into the top level apartment. and on templeton avenue.. a massive tree fell across the street-- landing on top of a home. sot we got a call saying red cross is here, they're being helfpul. oh by the way a tree fell on our home. the family was home when the tree fell.. but luckily no one was hurt. as temperatures continue to rise throughout the afternoon... road crews and homeowners will be busy assessing the damage and figuring out what to do next. in roanoke, erin brookshier, wsls 10.

plenty of power outages because of this storm. at last check, about forty five hundred people were without power there. all morning, crews have responded to reports of trees down blocking roads. a tree pulled some power lines down along axton road and caused a portion of the power pole to break off.### the danville utilities department is working to restore power to around 750 customers. crews have been in the 3-hundred block of kennon road since around nine... working to get everything cleaned up and repaired. the city says ... the largest concentration of outages happened around five this morning.... when there was a substation. utility workers say ... they're glad they didn't have as many power outages from this storm as they did about a year ago. that's when around 25- hundred people lost power. jerone mabe/engineerin g technician "we knew that the ice was coming in and we were hoping we would be okay, but that wasn't the case. we've had several problems like this one." they hope to have power restored

officer is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon after being indicted on six felonies for possesion of child pornography. 54-year-old brian mcalexander is scheduled to have a bond hearing. investigators says mcalexander was the target of an investigation centered around file sharing programs. according to indictments, he is being investigated for six videos - some of which involve old. mcalexander was with the bedford police department for more than 25 years.### one of the suspects disappearance of the lyon sisters pleads no contest to a perjury charge. leslie engleking entered the plea in bedford county circuit court this morning. during the hearing ... commonwealth's attorney randy krantz said ... engleking testified twice and made false statements to protect his sister ... patricia welch. she's charged with perjury in the lyon sisters case. katherine and sheila lyon went missing from a maryland mall 40-years ago. it's believed they were eventually brought to bedford county. engleking is scheduled to be sentenced on june 7-th at 1:30.

now to a wsls ten consumer watch. a new study suggests pregnant women who eat fish more than three times a week could put their children at risk for obesity. a study conducted by researchers at the university of crete, greece analyzed data from more than 26-thousand pregnant women. they followed up with the children age 6. the study found pregnant women who ate fish more than three times per week gave birth to children with higher body mass index values. the effect was greater in girls than boys.### i-phone sales in january were just about even with december's sales... according to estimates made by a drexel hamilton analyst. brian white says last month was the best month for the apple product since 20-08. over the past nine years, sales for the smartphone have fallen by an average of 11- percent. the analyst makes his predictions by monitoring apple suppliers. apple's stock currently trades
