new tonight at eleven... tourism officials hope putting our region under one "brand" will help attract more visitors. they're calling it virginia's blue ridge. it puts areas like roanoke... roanoke county... franklin county, botetourt.. salem and other parts of southwest virginia under one marketing umbrella. the roanoke valley visitors and convention bureau presented its plan today to the roanoke county board of supervisors. tourism officials want to highlight the mix of mountains and urban areas in our region. landon howard / roanoke valley visitors and convention bureau 11:29:46 the thing that is nice about "virginia's blue ridge" is that you can be salem in virginia's blue ridge, smith mountian lake in virginia's blue ridge. it's something we can all lay claim to. you'll soon see the virginia's blue ridge or v- b-r brand on stickers, brochures and other marketing tools. roanoke county leaders are looking for ways to redevelop county. they plan to start with one of of the area... the corridor along tanglewood mall. it's a densely populated area

botetourt county supervisors are reviewing a proposal that would halt the move of two historic slave structures back where they've sat for centuries. the group friends of the greenfield preston plantation presented supervisors with a check for 40- thousand dollars this afternoon. the money raised is to help pay for a cancellation of the move of the buildings. steve clinton, former board member: 03:27:59 "it's an opportunity to go back and take a look at this thing and rethink it. it's pretty risk free for them, so i'm optimistic." the group has asked the board to give them a response to their proposal by tomorrow night before the next structure is planned to be moved. giving back to others in need. the local thrift store that's expanding... thanks to the support of the community. the community's support of a

night, but they should be isolated and pretty light. then we'll turn our attention to the wind and some mountain snow showers. cold air will move in on the back side of that frontal boundary, allowing for us to see some mountain snow showers on thursday. thursday will be mostly cloudy and cooler with highs in the upper 40s. it is possible that the temperatures start to fall heading into the afternoon. the wind will be a huge factor for us on thursday as well. we could have gusts over 50 mph in spots.it would not surprise me if a wind advisory is issued for some folks for thursday, maybe even lasting into thursday night. friday should see more
