officer involved shooting. police say 18- year-old kionte deshaun spencer died after being shot by roanoke county police. he was found carrying what they believed to be a gun near the cave spring shopping area on friday. police received a call around 7:15 of a man wearing a bandana, pointing a gun at cars. upon arrival, officers saw spencer carrying what looked like a handgun but it was a b-b pistol air gun. after ignoring repeated demands to drop his weapon, two officers deployed their tasers. the tasers were ineffective and that's when they shot spencer twice, striking him in the hip and collarbone. howard hall, roanoke county police chief: "i don't know at this point if this was a situation that could have been quote "de- escalted". this was a deadly force encounter despite the fact that we know know that this handgun was an air gun." we know at least half a dozen

now on administrative leave. an internal investigation is underway to make sure protocal was followed.### the man accused of fatally shooting a virginia police officer and two others is expected in court today. authorities say active sergeant ronald hamilton is accused of shooting and killing ashley guindon over the weekend. hamilton is an army staff sergeant assigned to the pentagon. according to police, the suspect fired shots on prince william county police while they responded to a domestic dispute. rookie officer ashley guindon was working her first day on the job after being sworn in on friday. chief stephan hudson / prince william county police department "she was exceedingly bright, obviously driven in what she was doing, and skilled in so many ways." ronald hamilton is expected to face charges on multiple counts of murder and malicious wounding.### turning now to political coverage ... as presidential candidate donald trump prepares to speak at radford univeristy ... the republican front runner finds himself in the middle of a controversy with the ku klux klan. trump is stepping back from

weekend when he claimed to know nothing about former kkk leader david duke. this morning trump told nbc's "today show" that he was given "a bad earpiece" for the interview. the uproar began sunday when cnn's jake tapper pressed the candidate on white supremacists. trump says he doesn't know if duke or any other white supremacists groups are endorsing him.### republican presidential candidate donald trump is speaking right now at radford university. the campaign stop was announced last week. since then, people on both sides of the aisle have been planning ways to voice their opinions. wsls 10's bethany teague joins us live outside the rally. bethany, what is it like there? ### it has been very lively so far this morning. thousands of people are here at radford university's dedmon center to hear donald trump speak. we reported last week about attempts from protesters to collect as many tickets as possible and not go so that the

trump isn't the only candidate making stops across the commonwealth today. after winning big in the south carolina democratic primary on saturday, hillary clinton is expected to stop in fairfax and norfolk. she will speak to virginia voters about her plans to break down barriers holding people back. her rally starts tonight at eight in norfolk. republican ben carson is also in virgina today. he will speak at regent university in virginia beach at two this afternoon. his visit is part of the school's leadership series.### if you are registered to vote in roanoke, you may cast your ballot at a different location tomorrow than you're used too. city council voted in november to reduce the number of precincts from 32 to 21. the city registrar's office mailed notices to all voters showing your correct precinct and voting location. if you did not receive a notice in the mail, you can get the information online.

the 50s in the morning to the virginia student .. detained in north korea since january makes his first appearance. today is the first time otta warmbier is being seen by foreign media since his arrest. north korean authorities claim the u-v-a student is being detained for perpetrating a hostile act against the north korean government while under the manipulation of the u-s government. the 21-year old says he is sorry for his actions. previous foreign detainees in north korea claim they had been told what to say during public appearances. ### a third suspect is in jail this afternoon .. connected to a deadly north carolina shooting. 26-year-old demetrius farmer faces first degree murder and kidnapping charges. he is being held at the danville city jail and is the third suspect to face charges. his arrest is in connection to

of benjamin baker in rockingham county. baker was found dead in his eden home from an apparent gunshot wound after failing to show up for work. 18-year-old daquarius martin of martinsville and zachary haley of axton are also charged.### turning to national headlines ... the man accused of shooting his brother -- ohio pastor william charged today. police say 68- year old daniel schooler faces murder charges. church members say the suspect walked into the church, entered his brother's officer and started shooting. loretta smith / church member "hen we heard pa pow pa pow pa pow. that's when everybody started running. dayton police say a motive for shooting has not been determined. they do believe the pastor was the only intended victim.### court resumed today in erin andrews' civil lawsuit against stalker and the nashville marriott. michael barrett pleaded guilty to stalking in 20-10 after recording andrews through a peephole at the hotel. he then posted nude pictures of
