agreement. the latest in the case against jesse matthew junior. carl spencer, brother - i'll never be able to get over him until i find out what happened." plus ... the brother of a man killed following an officer involved shooting speaks out. the new details police are revealing. donald trump - "alright folks you're only going to hear it once ... all lives matter." and ... protests erupt during donald trump's rally at radford university. the message he shared with those in attendance ... ahead of super tuesday. good evening, and thanks for joining us for wsls 10 at seven. i'm lindsey ward. and i'm dawn jefferies. the man accused of killing hannah graham and morgan harrington may be ready to agree to a plea deal in both cases. jesse matthew junior will be in albemarle circuit court wednesday. tonight ... we are hearing reaction from harrington's mother gil who founded the group help save the next girl in her daughters memory. wsls 10's rob manch has more.

at les cheveux tonight. harrington was here as well continuing the work she's done since her daughters death more than 6 years ago. harrington started the organization after matthew allegedly murdered her she said she needed time before going on camera, but was the phone. she says finally closing the book on this case would be family. gil harrington, morgan harrington's mother - "we have spent six and a half years pushing the stone up the hill to find justice for morgan and anticipating another year's worth of motions hearings and a big trial was not something we've been looking forward to. we're getting tired." at this point the commonwealth's attorney isn't releasing any actual details of that plea agreement until matthew appears in court on wednesday. coming up on your wsls 10 at 11 ... we'll hear reaction from the family of alexis murphy who was killed in 20-13. her

working tirelessly since then to try and prevent these tragedies from ever happening again. in roanoke, rob manch wsls 10. roanoke county police identify the victim of friday's officer involved shooting. police say .. 18- year-old kionte spencer died after being shot twice. spencer was seen holding what we now know was a b-b gun. officers ordered spencer to drop the weapon. he refused and that's when two officers deployed their tasers. police say when that failed ... shots were fired. spencer was hit in the collarbone and hip. an internal investigation is underway to make sure police followed protocol. wsls 10's christina craig talked to spencer's brother and has more information. yes, i spoke with spencer's brother, carl spencer, earlier today. in fact, he was waiting right outside of the roanoke county public safety building after the news conference. spencer was hoping to find out more about his brother's death. he said they were close and talked about 4 times a week.

brother was just hours before the shooting. carl spencer, subject's brother - "that's what makes it so crazy. and, that's another reason why i came here, because this is not sitting right with me. i'll never be able to get over him until i find out what happened." spencer says his brother lived in an independent living program along garst mill road -- near where the shooting took place. prior to that, his brother says spencer grew up in foster care and was later moved to the group home. carl adds his brother was a junior at hidden valley high school, and had also attended northside high school. we reached out to roanoke county schools for comment. they couldn't say much at this time, but mentioned spencer was not in class last week. in studio, christina craig, wsls 10. an army staff sergeant admits to shooting his wife and three police officers over the weekend. that ... according to court records. ashley guindon ... one of the officers ... died from her injuries. she had just been sworn in and was working her first shift. 32-year-old ronald hamilton of woodbridge is charged with capital murder in guindon's

he also faces a murder charge in the shooting death of his wife. hamilton remains in jail without bond. the other two officers are expected to survive. meanwhile ... guindon's funeral is set to take place tomorrow in woodbridge. a danville man is in jail tonight in connection to a deadly shooting in north carolina. 26-year-old demetrius farmer faces first degree murder and kidnapping charges. he's the third person to face charges. farmer is being held at the danville city jail without bond. his arrest is in connection to the january shooting death of 32-year-old benjamin baker in rockingham county who failed to show up to work and was later found dead in his eden home. he'd been shot to death. 18-year-old daquarius martin of martinsville and zachary haley of axton are also charged. a word of caution tonight for anyone using home oxygen... a henry county man is lucky to be alive after he lit a cigarette while on home oxygen over the weekend ... causing his mobile home to

who was working near by at the time was able to pull the man away from the fire ... but not before the man suffered third degree burns over much of his body. the henry county fire marshal's office says smoking while on home oxygen is never a good idea. lisa garrett/assista nt fire marshal - "it is extremely dangerous to try to smoke a cigarette while you're on oxygen because the oxygen just feeds that flame. it may not seem like much, but it's enough to spark and set yourself on fire." the man is recovering tonight at the burn center at wake forest baptist memorial hospital in north carolina. volunteers in danville are keeping a close eye on e-coli levels in a stream that feeds into the dan river. volunteers conducted their monthly test of the stream off of parker road which has had fluctuating levels of e-coli for the past year. they say it's nothing to be overly concerned about but they'll continue to monitor the stream to potentially get to the source of

tuesday night more specifically, probably tuesday evening will be our best chance for showers and storms as another powerful cold front will cross our region. there could be a couple of strong-to- severe storms that accompany this disturbance tuesday evening, with damaging wind looking to be the main threat. some heavy rain is possible too. most of the rain is gone wednesday morning.altho ugh i cannot rule a stray leftover shower or two. wednesday will then see increasing sunshine, but it will be breezy with highs in the lower 50s. however, temperatures will probably fall into the 40s by around lunch-time. thursday will again begin dry, but by afternoon, we will have the chance for scattered rain showers. those rain showers could changeover to some snow thursday night, before ending friday morning. your political coverage ... republican presidential hopeful donald trump visits radford university ahead of super tuesday.

attended the rally today and explains what trump discussed. ananda rochita/radford - "thousands of people were here to listen to donald trump speak this afternoon at radford university." he talked about what he wants to do ... if elected president ... like build a border wall with mexico and compared it to the great wall of china. donald trump - "i'm gonna make my wall higher than china's wall ... we're gonna make it big. we're gonna make it so beautiful. and they're gonna name it the trump wall and i want it to be real good looking." he also didn't hesitate to take jabs at the other candidates like marco rubio. donald trump - "you wind him up and he talks. we call him the robot. we call him the lightweight robot." however not everyone was here for the entertainment. many are interested about trump's ideas and believe he would be a good president. will coffey/student

strength is what america needs right now. that's why we have the huge crowd and 11,000 people outside waiting ananda rochita/radford - "trump is making a stop in georgia tonight and will be in ohio and kentucky for super tuesday. in radford ananda rochita wsls 10." people in radford were excited to see donald trump today but he was not greeted with open arms by everybody. the tension boiled over minutes into his speech at the dedmon center. it started when one protester inside began raising his voice. trump stopped his speech to have that student kicked out. dozens more followed suit and were escorted out as well. the crowd was instructed not to be disruptive inside ... but many feel they have a right to have their voices heard no matter what. radford university student michael marmol was the first to be thrown out after yelling out trump hired illegal immigrants. michael marmol, ru student - "in retrospect, it's terrifying, but i'm just trying to enjoy it practically because this is a once in a lifetime situation. you've never seen america the

people acting the way that they are." trump claims there were 11 thousand people trying to attend today. that number has not been verified. tomorrow is super tuesday ... and voters in roanoke will be seeing a change. this is the first election that a new voter precinct realignment is in effect. at its highest level.. the city of roanoke was made up of thirty-two precincts. after the changes ... there are now just 21 precincts ... including seven new voting locations. the change is all in an effort to even out the precincts and cut down on the time that voters spend waiting in line at the polls. tomorrow morning polls across the state will open at six a-m. meanwhile in appomattox ... due to the damage at central baptist church following last weeks tornado .. the voting location for the "chap precinct" will be moved to friendship baptist church. any tornado victim who still needs a photo i-d can get a temporary one at the appomattox county registrar's office. for more information on where

chris perkins' last day with the department. he announced his plans to retire back in december. perkins took part in his final line-up with the department after nearly 24 years of service. he returned to the area where his career started ... district four ... the northwest part of the city. known for being a fast officer ... perkins recalls his early days of chasing criminals. over the past five years as chief ... he helped make thee neighborhoods safer. he used programs like the drug market initiative or d-m-i

the 88-th annual academy awards are in the books. there was a mix of expected and unexpected winners. the biggest award of the night ... best picture .. went to "spotlight". in the best actor category ... leonardo dicaprio finally got his oscar. he was honored for his performance in "the revenant". brie larson won best actress for her performance in "room". but the biggest winner of the night was "mad max fury road." it won six oscars ... all in technical categories. after nearly a year in space ... united states astronaut scott

kelly and a russian cosmonaut served as test subjects on the international space station. scientists studied the affects of space travel on the human body. it's all part of nasa's goal to make sure astronauts can handle a trip to mars. kelly is set to return to texas on wednesday. he has now spent the most cumulative time in space of any american in history. the voice is back for a brand new season ... and with a new season comes new talent. mike schiavo singing body ... adam levine and pharell williams turn their chairs new contestants take the stage to sing their hearts out in hopes of turning a chair. once again ... christina aguilera will be one of the coaches they're trying to win over as she re- joins blake shelton ... adam levine and pharrell williams. aguilera says her rivalry with blake shelton has intensified this time around.
