carl spencer, subject's brother - "that's what makes it so crazy. and, that's another reason why i came here, because this is not sitting right with me. i'll never be able to get over him until i find out what happened." the officers involved are on admistrative leave while the department conducts an internal investigation to make sure protocol was followed.### a raleigh, north carolina community is struggling to deal with an officer involved shooting that left one person dead. police say the shooting victim was wanted on felony drug charges and ran away from officers trying to arrest him. at some point during the chase, police say officer d-c twiddy shot and killed the man. rolanda byrd says her son, 24- year-old akiel denkins, was the victim but police have yet to confirm his identity. the state bureau of investigation is reviewing the shooting.### a grayson county couple charged in connection with a deadly dog attack returns to court today for a preliminary hearing. terra connell and john underwood face second degree murdercharges after their dog

babysitting last month. the child died at a north carolina hospital as a result of its injuries.### the man charged with drunkenly crashing a stolen car in bedford county, killing one passenger and injuring the other goes before a grand jury today. 19 year old christian riddle faces charges of maiming while driving intoxicated, dwi and driving with a revoked license. ivy adkins died on saturday months after she was injured in the octover crash. her cousin natalie matthews was also hurt but is expected to survive. ### today is super tuesday. it's a chance for voters in several key states, including virginia to decide who they want to represent their party in the race for president. as voters in roanoke city head out to the polls today.. they can expect some changes -- especially in where they go to vote. wsls ten's erin brookshier joins us now live. tell us about the new voting locations.### the polls are set to open in less

and this morning, many voters in roanoke city are getting ready to head out to a new polling location. this is the first election that the "voter precinct realignment" project will be in place. at its highest level.. the city of roanoke was made up of thirty-two precincts.. with thirty-two different polling locations. on election day, some of those polling places would be very busy.. with extremely long lines.. and other locations would not be busy at all. now the region has been re- districted into twenty-one precincts.. in an effort to even out the number of people voting at each location. the premise behind looking at precinct realignment is looking at how we can improve voting for voters and we realized there was a big disparity of the number of registered voters. we had precincts with less than one thousand registered voters and we had some with

the space agency has granted a 20-million dollar contract to lockheed martin to develop a passenger jet that can fly faster than the speed of sound. nasa says the plan is intended to make flying safer, greener and quieter. this is a preliminary design of what it will look like. the jet would use technology to create a soft thump instead of rattling sonic booms while in flight. sonic booms trigger booming sounds that can be heard for miles.### bugatti says it's about to break the record for the fastest car in the world. the french carmaker revealed the chiron yesterday at the geneva motor show. bugatti promises it to be faster and more powerful than all its previous models. the brand is known for high-

time now for your timesaver traffic report. the man accused of murdering two virginia college students is expected to sign a plea agreement, avoiding a trial in both cases. jesse matthew junior will be in an albemarle county courtroom wednesday. he is charged with murder in the deaths of hannah graham and morgan harrington. matthew could have faced the death penalty in the graham case had he been convicted. he's already serving life in prison for a sexual assault in fairfax county. graham was a university of virginia student who disappeared in september 2014. harrington was a virginia tech student who vanished after attending a concert in 2009. harrington's family.. along with several others in the community feel relief that the case may finally come to an end.

"kim mulhern: i always remember ashley as being such a kind person, so brave; cared for everybody. i mean she was so strong." two other officers who were injured are expected to survive. army staff sergeant ronald hamilton is charged with capital murder in the death of guindon as well as his wife. he is in jail without bond. ### four students were hurt after a shooting at an ohio high school. police say a 14- year-old student started shooting on monday inside the madison junior-senior high school cafeteria. two students were shot and two others were hurt while trying to get away. all of their injuries are non- life threatening. police say the shooter ran from the building and dropped the weapon but was taken into custody near school grounds. police say they do have a motive but are not releasing it at this time.### an arson investigation is underway after a deadly fire at a marina in middlesex county. virginia state police say two

middlesex county deputies say they were called to the dozier yachting center monday morning. the fire was contained several hours later but not before destroying nearly two dozen boats and two cars. the coast guard is overseeing the environmental impact of the fire while state police continues investigating.### a henry county man is recovering at a north carolina hospital this morning. this comes after one of his neighbors rescued him after flames. the fire marshal's office says william meredith lit a cigarette while on home oxygen over the weekend. when neighbor timothy bryant arrived... meredith was on fire laying on his front porch, halfway out of his front door. nocgtimothy bryant/saved neighbor/phone r "i ran up onto his small porch and picked him up and threw him in my car...i wasn't thinking about anything. i was just making sure i got him and he was out of the fire." meredith received third degree burns to much of his body, but his family says he is doing

a man who plead guilty to multiple charges in connection to a deadly shooting in danville could be sentenced today. kadarius ferrell plead guilty to second degree murder charges in the death of bennie sigmon. he faces a maximum of 101 years in prison. police say sigmon was shot multiple times when he went outside his home to confront ferrell and several other men who were trespassing on his property in june of last year. police say the men robbed another home on the same street around the time of the shooting. new this morning..former virginia governor bob mcdonnell's legal team files its opening brief with the u.s. supreme court. they argue mcdonnell was unfairly convicted on an overly broad definition of bribery that they say allows prosecutors "to investigate and indict essentially any official they choose." a jury in september 2014 convicted mcdonnell and his wife, maureen, of doing favors for wealthy vitamin executive jonnie williams in exchange for more than $165,000 in gifts and loans. the case will be argued in april,

w-s-l-s 10's erin brookshier joins us live with more on the potential to break voting records here in the commonwealth.## # across the nation.. voter turnout for this year's presidential primary elections has been huge. iowa.. new hampshire.. south carolina and nevada have all shattered previous records.. and the state of virginia could see new voter turnout records set today as well. the state of virginia has 159 delegates up for grabs today... including 49 republican

delegates and 15 super-delegates. and with the potential for a big increase in primary voters.. the star city is getting its first chance to test out new voting districts and polling locations. nearly two- thirds of voters in roanoke will be voting at locations they have never voted at before-- as the number of precincts in the city is now lower. at its highest level we had 32 precincts, we now have 21 precincts and that means 18 of the former polling locations are no longer polling locations. we've sent out notices to over sixty-thousand voters and hopefully everyone has paid attention to where they'll be voting now because most voting locations will have changed. the changes will even out the number of voters at each location... to prevent overcrowding and long lines at certain polling places. if you don't have or can't find your voter registration card-- you
