traffic team 9's mark taylor is monitoring the issue. >> it's been sometime since we saw big delays as traffic thinned out early this morning. if you're heading toward the john belk and brookshire, no big slow downs, 17 la salle, minor wreck. mallet creek south of mallet creek church. two separate accidents here causing minor delays but over all, big picture stuff, traffic is staying out over charlotte. no more delays after the morning rush, keith? the clouds are here. we're seeing the snow showers break out at ski resort level in the mountains. we've seen snow at beach mountain moving in. the mountain counties, snow for the rest of the day. some of this gets into charlotte around lunch time. i don't expect any accumulations here in town. but you may see snow falling for a while. we'll clear out this afternoon, warming to around 40 though. we're stepping down from the close to 50-degree high from maybe light mountain snow tomorrow morning. we stay in the 30s all weekend.

break of cold weather that's coming in this week. next week we're tracking the next big storm system on monday. may start with wintery mix. but all signs indicate it may change to rain in charlotte and staying rain into tuesday. maiden police shot and killed a man after he lunged at them with a knife. police say they responded to a 911 call at this home and found elijah jackson barricaded inside a bathroom. they say he was cutting himself with a knife and lunged at officers with it. police shot and killed him. two officers are now on administrative leave while the sbi investigates. thanks for making channel 9 your choice for news. we'll be back with eyewitness
